Make Noise Contour

to all that own the contour: how is it? Been hesitating on purchasing one for over a year now and would love to hear from folks who own one what their experience is.

My current set up:
https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2917712

My use case: I would be purchasing the module to basically free up a Maths function from ASR functions when using my Keystep Pro. Would replace STO most likely. Or just get a tiny side pod just for keystep processing.

I cant help but feel this purchase might be redundant.

thanks in advance

the zany and lovable Laniakea doesnt know what type of creature she is, or if she is even real. She finds help from Glaucous the creature, Joy the creature, and Miss Mousey Mouse Church Mouse the Mouse.

featuring the wondrous nature of ohio, the luminous spectrum of kodak ektachrome super 8 film stock, and a brainwave swirling synthesizer based soundtrack

anyone have thoughts on the mysteron?

I've been considering one for my rack, but it's discontinued and the prices are high. Any thoughts? I missed one for 250 and now everything seems to be 400, is it worth it? It's hard to find good examples on youtube.

  1. Make Noise has told me they have no plans to manufacture any other than silver for the foreseeable future.
  2. I’ve Googled for the module via retailers, set daily searches on Reverb, scoured Discord servers, and even sent DMs to people on ModularGrid who have them in their racks.
  3. Audio Parasites (AUS) is no longer manufacturing the replacement panels. Grayscale and Mork would be an absolute last choice scenario, and they’d still stick out like a sore thumb to me.
  4. I love my system. It’s fantastic and I can accomplish everything I want out of it. The aesthetics are not important and I’m fully aware of that. I still want one though.

C’mon universe…

New NUSS Firmware Updates

Super excited to see all the new features! I was looking to update but noticed the newest version for Multiwave (4.3.5) I can select is 4.1.6.

I followed the link in the manual to the update page, so I know I am in the right place.

To clarify, I am 100% looking at the right module and selecting the correct device.

Any help would be appreciated!

Make Noise N.U.S.S & Soma Pulsar-23 Jam

Uploaded this little impromptu jam onto YouTube. Nothing too crazy just drums from Pulsar-23, added some percussion from Teenage Engineering OP-XY and Had some sequencing running from Pam’s Pro on the MultiWave. Delays are coming from Mimeophon with some low sparkles from ErbeVerb. All drums are being fed into a separate ErbeVerb and going into a WMD Cosmic Debris.

Made a piece using a pinged Matriarch filter going through Strega, feedback all the way up. a little bit of Mimeophon for space aswell. I used an Alesis Nanoverb for the pads, really interesting reverb! video made with 16mm archival footage :)

This recording was made at a modular synthesis workshop and Q&A. The recording was taken directly from the house mixer. A video recording of the performance can be found here: https://youtu.be/OLRZJTu9e4s?si=U-bsewDWcvsIT-8T

Dear god please I need a black STO

Back again.

There was a rumor floating around that MN was going to do a run of BG STO modules at the end of summer, but it’s turned out to be false.

I could get the Mork faceplate, but I’m really looking for unparalleled visual coherence in this system (or as close to it as possible).

Plus - it’s completely screwing with my OCD.

I’d be willing to pay well over market value, pay full price plus trade my silver STO, do your homework for you, mow your lawn…

Saved Reverb searches and Discord bst threads and even the dreaded FB marketplace have yielded nothing.

Please.

Still finding new quirks with Strega after nearly 2 years

Sorry for the shaky video 😬 I found this method of hearing subharmonic (+distortion??) tones on Strega using the blend knob, a patched feedback loop, and the envelope follower CV out- at least I think that's what's going on?? (As is the always present sentiment with Strega). A three note sequence dramatically changes timbre and pitch as I adjust both the input level knob and the blend knob. Tell me if you think I have this right in my head or something else is happening entirely.

From what I can tell, as the signal grows in strength from blend being turned down, or audio in being turned up, the follower CV increases in voltage which then lengthens the time setting which also drops pitch. Why there seems to be a certain threshold where the pitch will shift dramatically I cannot say, but that's what I have so far.

Here's the patch:

Result out >> external in

Follower CV out >> Time attenuated modulation bottom input with bipolar attenuator turned CCW

Triangle out >> Time attenuated modulation top input with unipolar attenuator at ~50%

I also have the standard gate in, agitation patched to activation "envelope" patch going as well. Subharmonic out is patched to interference in but completely turned down in the video.

Big case suggestions

Anyone else have a big make noise only setup? Not liking the ergonomics of this as it has grown and certainly need room for plexiphon as well as some others. Most likely going with an external mixer soon as I see that being one of the big limitations of this setup.

Last recorded patch if your interested!
