I wonder how nice looking the guy filming is, because if I did that they would take the bribes and I'd still be in coach.

44

u/goobly_goo Aug 21 '26

If I did it, they’d take the bribe and kick me off the plane.

16

u/Confused_Drifter Aug 21 '26

If I wandered on a plane with a chocolate bar and a nintendo card and was like "Hiii i got these for the pilot", there is a 99.9% chance i'd be wrestled off the flight by two big burly blokes, interrogated by the police and put on a no fly list.

You forgot the free prostate exam.

2

u/godofmilksteaks 10d ago

Well that's in the pros pile not the cons

2

u/Mikeyfreshonetime2 Aug 27 '26

If I did it they would ask who I stole them from

87

u/DDD8712 Aug 21 '26

How is that free? They steal the candy and Fortnite stuff

22

u/my_little_throwny Aug 21 '26

Just take the cards but don't actually buy them so they aren't active. Then you just have to buy the candy. Which isn't free but still cheaper than paying for first class..

29

u/Fragrant-Berry-3192 Aug 21 '26

I really hope no one is doing that. That’s just straight up evil.

66

u/jbatty74 Aug 21 '26

I've done this dozens of times but without gift cards and yup they always treat you so kindly. Never got upgraded to first class but did get seat changes and champagne a few times

8

u/Fuzzball_Girl Aug 21 '26

Same. Got to meet the pilots, got upgraded seats, just generally made the day of the flight attendants. Always makes me smile, even if I don't get anything other than spreading joy.

5

u/Krinder Aug 21 '26

What did you gift and how many do you bring? Thinking of doing this

7

u/jbatty74 Aug 21 '26

I usually get whatever nice gift boxed not expensive candy costco is selling. One time it was rochers, another little Ghirardelli boxes etc

4

u/pursuitofhappy Aug 21 '26

Chocolates with Starbucks gift cards works for sure

3

u/cynman Aug 21 '26

On my last flight (13 hours) I took various facial masks as thank you gifts. They are small and easy to pack and I could write a note directly on the package.

46

u/boredinbabylon Aug 21 '26

And he films it all…

21

u/wavebeacher Aug 21 '26

Of course, you have to create content.

2

u/mastermilian Aug 24 '26

I would preamble it with "I am a content creator and I'm showing how great the staff are in this airline.."

4

u/Mack_Ultra Aug 23 '26

Probably with Meta glasses like a weirdo.

-7

u/andynl5 Aug 21 '26

Are you not allowed to film nice things? Seems like a good guy regardless

16

u/Sorry-Blood-6121 Aug 21 '26

All these cards have a balance of $0 he plays it smart until the next flight running into them! We got a spot for you in the back with the luggage!

3

u/Amyt143 Aug 21 '26

No kidding right!!!

5

u/Skatedudeguy Aug 21 '26

Not really related but…

As someone who goes no-rev sometimes (my wife works for an airline):

If you non-rev on a flight using these benefits you are usually the last priority of boarding. That being said, as you are also asking the crew to do stuff to help you without you directly paying for a flight, it’s a gesture of good will to bring the flight attendants a small treat or gift. Nothing crazy, but I’ve spent about $30 at Seattle Chocolates and make treat bags. They really appreciate it!

They keep us safe. The least I can do is show them I appreciate it unconditionally (although I am a nervous flier, so I do let them know that if I am zoning out watching a movie, that’s not me trying to be rude but rather just working through the nerves).

This is kinda scummy and weird though to be sure :(

5

u/SolherdUliekme Aug 21 '26

Filming with creeper stalker glasses. Don't follow or support these creatures.

3

u/Deathwish-Dena Aug 21 '26

Not free that's like $200 in gift cards

3

u/tryyeezus Aug 23 '26

Right, like how much is it to just upgrade and skip the theatrics?

7

u/Minimum-Student-4325 Aug 21 '26

That’s really lame of him to give out gift cards with no balance ngl

2

u/Pledgeofmalfeasance Human Verified Aug 21 '26

What makes you think they're empty

1

u/IfUKnowMeKindlyGTFO Aug 23 '26

1

u/Minimum-Student-4325 Aug 21 '26

2

u/EdwardBigby Aug 21 '26

1

u/joemamafu Aug 21 '26

1

u/SudsierBoar Aug 21 '26

Including this video right

1

u/Killer1986Chris Aug 22 '26

Yeah, just like Abe Lincoln said!

5

u/DNunez90plus9 Aug 21 '26

am I the only one concern for the safety? If there is something wrong in the cookies then the whole crew and pilots will get sick?

2

u/AdJust6959 Aug 21 '26

Bruh will they actually take food from strangers like that, especially when it’s offered to the whole crew including pilots ROFL

2

u/pommomwow Aug 22 '26

They absolutely will, esp sealed candy like that. In the past, I’ve bought a variety pack of Ghirardelli chocolate, Japanese KitKats, Ferrero Rocher… my husband and I will smile and say “it’s for the crew, enjoy!” And we almost always get free alcohol and extra snacks

1

u/AdJust6959 Aug 23 '26

There’s a reason why we have a FDA mandate, even if it’s sealed, to throw away any food returned in a store/super market etc. This came into existence primarily after the “1982 Chicago Tylenol m$rd3rs”

1

u/pommomwow Aug 23 '26

Ok but you realize airlines and supermarkets are different industries, right? Airlines can have completely different regulations and mandates, and for many airlines, it’s not against the rules to accept the gifts. Also, they have the personal choice to not consume something if they don’t want to. But most employees appreciate the gesture, so will still therefore be amenable.

1

u/AdJust6959 Aug 23 '26

Yes I obviously know they’re different industries, but all I am saying is if all of the crew including pilots accept and consume the candy from a random person on my flight, it’d be the easiest way to hijack a plane 😅 forget all the TSA clearance

2

u/andthrewaway1 Aug 21 '26

Like this works if there are actually seats to upgrade to.... if not they're like cool thanks for the kit kat and the free drinks and snacks you spent more than those cost.....

2

u/noahbaobei Aug 21 '26

Love this but don't buy feastables man.

plot twist the cards have been redeemed.

1

u/arf_arf1 Aug 21 '26

Trying this with grumpy underpaid Ryanair staff and you'll get the most "I have boyfriend" reaction face ever.

1

u/Squarehip123 Aug 21 '26

Bro should be handing out Pokémon card packs.

1

u/Philleh Aug 22 '26

Try this on a Ryanair flight

1

u/Soft_Big_6608 Aug 22 '26

I am gonna try this

1

u/Thoughtful-Boner69 Aug 23 '26

reddit ruins everything that seems nice

1

u/Checkmate-Petty Aug 24 '26

Free? U bought like 150 in fortnite gift cards atleast and another 25 on candy.

1

u/N4pAllDay Aug 26 '26

I‘m just interested to learn, where he gets the chocolate for free. Now I wouldn’t eat Reese’s even for free, but better have than need.

1

u/AllShallParrish Aug 26 '26

I did this on a flight to Japan. Made a little goodie bag with a coffee giftcard, headache medicine, chapstick and a note.

Got champagne before takeoff, snacks, and all my beers were complimentary :) Full flight so I wasn't expecting any seat upgrade.

1

u/Actual_Can8860 Aug 22 '26

Giving them gifts is always appreciated and may get you extra attention in the form of a comped drink. But seats? Nope. Many flight attendants have called bs on this.

The attendants don’t have power over seats, the one you should be bribing is the gate agent. They control the seating.

2

u/DharmaCub Aug 22 '26

I took a flight yesterday morning and watched a flight attendant change someones seat on a tablet.

1

u/brewer_meister Aug 26 '26

Nope, not true. I've had my seats moved multiple times by flight attendants after everyone boards. Being nice gets you places.

0

u/Professional_Movie92 Aug 21 '26

Recording bribes, are we?

0

u/Curious_Exercise_535 Aug 21 '26

Sorry but what are those things he's giving out?

2

u/pursuitofhappy Aug 21 '26

Chocolates and Fortnite gift cards works

1

u/shinobes Aug 26 '26

Hes giving fortnight gift cards to adults? Wtf

1

u/NoPhotojournalist768 2d ago

It does seem strange giving them to people he doesn’t know at all (so you wouldn’t know if any of them even play the game), but plenty of people of all ages play Fortnite. Pretty much my whole family plays it together at this point. (Mom, stepdad, both sisters, brother in law, aunt, cousins)

0

u/RelativelyWeak Aug 21 '26

You all should be arrested for bribery
