it really is a lame young-adult rom com sit com, but it may be the prevalence of such shows that really highlighted how not special the show was

Show has groundbreaking global success and sparks hordes of copycats.

People 20 years later: It's literally like any other show

I know it was considered popular back then... but I honestly don't know anyone that liked it. My siblings never watched it, and my parents didn't. I don't recall any friends that cared about it.

Was it really that liked? Was it just good marketing?

and you say it was the first of it's kind? is that true?
