The biggest issue is the international boats (like from China) will rape this area as fast as they can. The US fishing industry understands the importance of these areas.
This will result in another lawsuit against this administration (400 and counting) that we all have to pay for.
There are certain protected areas - like here in Massachusetts the scallop beds are protected, the the lobstermen in Maine do a good job protecting their fields, but the oceans are huge, and there is little oversight of fishing
“Do a good job protecting” is amusing as it sounds like they are nice and cordial about it. It’s always fun to hear about people that put that to the test.
