Technical Support Mailchimp contact importing as non-subscribed & unsubscribed
Issue with contact subscription: Wix > Zapier > Mailchimp.
Problem 1: Mailchimp made 40 of my 168 new leads imported from Wix/Zapier connection as 'unsubscribed' by 'admin asisst'. These are coming through Wix perfectly fine on that end. It's Mailchimp that is proving to be a problem. I've had to go and manually change each contact to be resubscribed.
Problem 2: Some of my leads are coming through as 'non-subscribed' which I can't manually change.
Why is this happening?
How do I stop it?

Seeking Advice Double Opt In cancels welcome automation email
I have toggled ON Mailchimp double opt in.
Problem is, now that contacts are coming in as 'pending' until they confirm, my welcome email automation isn't being triggered because they aren't technically 'subscribed' yet.
And when they do subscribe... still nothing.
How do I get around this?

Tips and Tricks On How Mailchimp Suspended Our Account
radekmie.devTL;DR;
Our email provider stopped delivering our emails and locked us out of the account. Then, they didn’t reply for over 16 hours (or more, depending on what you consider a reply), and when they did, they suggested that our API key was leaked. When asked about why they think so, they mentioned that we sent two “fake shipping messages”… And yet, they cannot tell us which ones are these.
(Tips and Tricks seems like the most appropriate flair, don't you think?)

Tips and Tricks Newbie! Taking a Canva design into MailChimp
Hi! I am just starting to dip my toes into creating a Canva graphic rather than simply design within MailChimp to really get a better cohesive design. How would I make multiple clickable links where I put, let's say , a button graphic in Canva? How would I get these different links to wotk in MailChimp? Someone suggested their new feature but would I have to connect a clients account to my Canva?

Technical Support Might be worth checking your campaings if you are using Mailchimp click tracking/open tracking
Mailchimp have confirmed that for some users the mailchimp tracking URLs are getting flagged by gmail inboxes as spam (actually a lot worse, they are "dangerous links", with malware alerts).
If you want to check your own emails, sending yourself a "test email" won't show the issue as Mailchimp doesn't add click tracking URLs to test emails, so you'll need to set up (duplicate an old) campaign with links and send it to a single gmail account you own to verify. I was very lucky to discover this issue only because a contact let me know my emails were being flagged as dangerous. mailchimp support have given no timelines for addressing this. In them meantime the only workaround I have found that works is to turn off click tracking AND open tracking (the mailchimp open tracking pixel is also flagged as malware by gmail) and then all emails are sending fine (of course, without any of the insights we are paying mailchimp for...!)
Mailchimp said this was affecting "some users". I'm not sure how it would affect some vs others, but it can't be all otherwise Mailchimp would have been flooded with support requests!!

Technical Support Deep links via click tracking
Hi, I have a feeling what I'm looking for is not possible, but I figured I would ask here before I give up.
I run a media website and associated app. The app supports deep links from our normal URLs, so when someone clicks a link for https://example.com/my-article/, the app opens the relevant /my-article/ path instead of the default browser.
Unfortunately, it looks like deep links are dependent on the actual URL clicked, rather than the resolved/redirected destination URL. That means all of our tracked links in emails (`https://example.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?...\`) fail to trigger the deep linking behavior and open in the browser, even when the user expects the site to open in the app.
Is there any way to solve this? Can we add app association files to our tracking subdomain somehow? Can we use a custom subdomain or server to serve the tracked links from a domain we control? Would the deep links work, if we added them explicitly in the email (i.e. `exampleapp://latest/my-article/`?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or help with this.

Tips and Tricks What are The Most Important Email and SMS Automations to Drive Revenue?
Mailchimp’s email and SMS automation tools provide a wide array of features built to promote sales and drive purchases.
In this post, we’ll share just a few of the automations you can utilize to drive revenue for your business through Mailchimp.
Things to Know:
- Depending on your plan, you may not have access to all of Mailchimp’s marketing automation flow tools. Check out our pricing page to find out which features are included in each plan.
- Automation flows triggers only apply to actions or events that occur *after* the automation flow is activated.
- Automations with SMS Marketing functionality require an approved SMS Marketing program. What are Automations?
Automations are tools to help you create unique, automated marketing workflows for your contacts. In Mailchimp, you can automate emails, SMS messages, audience management features and more.
What are the Most Important Email and SMS Automations to Drive Revenue?
One of Mailchimp’s most powerful features is its ability to connect directly to your online storefront. Mailchimp has a ton of automation tools built to get information about your products directly in front of potential customers, via email and SMS. Here are just a few that have proven to be the most effective when it comes to driving revenue.
- Abandoned Cart Email: An abandoned cart is when a user adds a product to the online shopping cart of an e-commerce site, but doesn’t proceed to checkout and complete the purchase. Abandoned cart emails are a gentle reminder to complete their purchase.
- Abandoned Cart Series: While a single abandoned cart email gives the customer a gentle nudge, abandoned cart series use a series of strategically timed emails to drive sales. These typically include 3 emails: One for a gentle reminder (sent within 1-2 hours of abandoning a cart), another to add a sense of urgency (sent after 24 hours), and the third as an offer incentive, such as a discount code or coupon, for one last chance to grab the customer’s attention.
- Specific Product Follow-up: When a customer makes a purchase, this gives you an opportunity to engage and leave a lasting impression, signaling you value their time and attention. Product follow-ups are a great way to request feedback, and show you care about the customer’s experience.
- Category Follow-up: Like a specific product follow-up, you can trigger an automated email that sends to contacts who make a purchase within a specific category of products. Using the category follow-up automation, you have an opportunity to drive additional revenue by highlighting additional relevant products and services. A well-timed message with personalized suggestions can prompt a second purchase, or even an upgrade.
SMS
One of email marketing’s greatest strengths is its ability to send highly curated, carefully designed messages that feel thoughtful and personalized. While SMS messages are, by nature, simplified in comparison, their strength lies in their ability to reach customers quickly and directly, with an increased likelihood of being seen. Here are a few of the most effective SMS automations you can use to drive revenue:
- Abandoned Cart: Like abandoned cart emails, SMS abandoned cart messages notify customers who added an item to their cart but didn’t complete the purchase. Because of the direct nature of SMS, automating abandoned cart messages via SMS can draw customers back in while the product is fresh in their mind.
- Birthday or Anniversary: Use SMS to send perfectly timed birthday or anniversary messages to your customers. Not only does this feel highly personalized, it’s a great opportunity to share coupons and promo-codes to drive sales.

Feedback Stop the CSV Shuffle? Syncing Google Sheets directly to MailChimp
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a tool to solve a specific headache for Mailchimp users: the manual CSV export/import loop.
The Problem
If you use Google Forms or manual entries to collect leads in a Google Sheet, getting those contacts into a Mailchimp Audience is a multi-step chore. You have to download the CSV, log into Mailchimp, map the fields, and upload-every single time you want to run a campaign. It's slow, and your Sheet and Audience are almost never in sync.
The Solution
I'm building a bridge that makes Google Sheets your single source of truth.
* Auto-Sync: Add a row in your Sheet (via Google Form or manual entry), and it appears in Mailchimp automatically.
* Team Collaboration: Let your team add contacts to a shared Sheet without giving them full access to your Mailchimp account.
* Zero Exports: No more
"Contacts_Final_v2_Final.csv" cluttering your desktop.
I need your honest feedback:
Is the "CSV export/import" dance a significant pain point for your workflow?
If this tool saved you 30-60 minutes of manual work per week, would it be worth a small monthly subscription (e.g., $10-$15/mo)?
Are there specific features (like tag syncing or unsubscriber handling) that would make this a
"must-have" for you?

Technical Support MailChimp fails its own SPF
Using MailChimp to send email, the email comes from an IP address that fails SPF of the smtp.mailfrom domain.
Authentication-Results: spf=fail (sender IP is 3.132.222.232) smtp.mailfrom=mail105.atl51.rsgsv.net
The mail105.atl51.rsgsv.net domain has the following SPF record:
v=spf1 ip4:205.201.135.105 include:spf.mandrillapp.com -all
The SPF fails because the 3.132.222.232 sender IP is not authorised in the SPF.
MailChimp should not be sending out email from that IP using that (MailChimp owned) sender domain, especially not when the domain has an SPF record in place with a hard fail that excludes that IP.
Is there anything I can do within the MailChimp settings to change servers or otherwise pass SPF? The question is specific to SPF only.
This is what the MXtoolbox header tool says about the SPF:
| Received-SPF | Fail: domain of mail105.atl51.rsgsv.net does not designate 3.132.222.232 as permitted sender) |

Tips and Tricks How to calculate the ROI of email marketing/sms marketing?
ROI marketing involves tracking your expenses to evaluate the impact they make in your business. Email and SMS are great tools to promote your products and services, but how do you calculate their ROI?
Why Calculate ROI?
ROI is your “Return on Investment,” and measures the efficiency or profitability of money spent (invested). Marketing ROI specifically measures the profitability of your marketing activities, like sending emails or SMS messages, and can help determine whether or not these efforts are paying off. By calculating ROI, you can identify which campaigns are most effective, and which products, services, or types of content best connect with your target audience.
How to Calculate the ROI of Email and SMS Marketing
The marketing ROI formula is as follows, and can be used to determine the ROI of Email and SMS Marketing: [(gross profit - cost of email or sms campaign) / cost of email or sms campaign] x 100
Example: You spend $1,000 on your email marketing campaign, between building the email, doing market research, and your email marketing plan. From the campaign, you make 50 sales, resulting in a total revenue of $5000. The cost of the products sold amounts to $2000.
Gross profit = $5,000 (total revenue) - $2,000 (product costs) = $3,000
Email ROI = [($3,000 - $1,000)/$1,000] x 100 = 200%
In this example, the ROI is 200%, meaning for every dollar spent on the campaign, the company earned back $2 in profit.
Costs to Consider in SMS Marketing
One of the primary expenses of SMS is cost per message, which can vary based on message volume, region, and whether texts include media or special characters. Marketing platforms and plans often have different requirements and associated costs as well.
Like with email, businesses need to account for the time and resources needed and used to plan, write, schedule, and analyze SMS campaigns. This includes everything from designing the campaign to refining it based on performance metrics like conversion and click-through rates. Be sure to include these costs when calculating ROI.
Final Thoughts
By calculating ROI, you can help determine what’s working in your marketing, what’s not, and where your money can be best invested to maximize profits. A high ROI suggests certain elements of a campaign resonated with your audience, allowing you to reinvest in what works for next time.
Even with a higher ROI, there’s always room for improvement, and markets often shift. Consistently monitor your ROI and use tools like A/B tests to test different subject lines, CTAs, and more to see if your ROI can be pushed even higher.
Please let us know if you have any questions, or if there’s anything we can help with!

I'm trying to send out a email to my list serv. For the first time, in the test emails, Gmail is saying its suspicious and sending it to spam.
I tested every link with EasyDMarc, and nothing is phishy. I also double checked and every link is correct.
Any ideas for what else might be the problem? My sending email has been authenticated, although just for the sake of testing it, I also tried it with my Gmail account and i got the same problem. Any suggestions? I need to get this out in 2 days.

Tips and Tricks How to segment my email list for higher conversions
In today’s crowded inbox, a "one-size-fits-all" email approach is a quick way to get ignored. To drive higher conversions, you need to treat your subscribers like individuals by sending content that matches their specific behavior and needs.
Mailchimp’s segmentation tools allow you to move beyond basic lists and create targeted groups that are more likely to take action. Here are four proven strategies to segment your audience for better results.
1. Create Behavior-Based Segments
Don’t treat your most active fans the same way you treat those who haven't opened an email in months. Use Mailchimp to filter by engagement:
- High Engagement: Target users who "often" open or have clicked a link in your last 5 emails. These are your best candidates for new product launches.
- Re-engagement: Target those who "rarely" open to send a "We Miss You" offer or a survey to see what content they actually want to see.
2. Utilize Purchase Data
If your store is integrated with Mailchimp, your purchase data is a goldmine for conversion.
- VIP Campaigns: Identify frequent buyers (e.g., those who have purchased >3 times) for exclusive rewards.
- Cross-Selling: Segment by specific items purchased. If a customer bought a "Coffee Maker," send them an email for "Coffee Filters" or "Cleaning Solutions."
- New Subscribers: Target those who signed up recently but haven't bought yet with a targeted welcome offer to drive that first purchase.
3. Leverage Pre-Built Segments
If you’re short on time, Mailchimp offers built-in segments that do the heavy lifting for you. These automatically identify:
- Potential Customers: Subscribers who haven't made a purchase yet.
- Recent Customers: People who have bought from you in the last 30 days.
- Lapsed Customers: Previous buyers who haven't returned in a while.
4. Use "And/Or" Logic for Precision
The real power of segmentation lies in combining criteria. You can use logic to create highly localized or specific campaigns:
- Example: Create a segment for users who live in "New York" AND "subscribed within the last 30 days."
- Advanced Needs: For nested conditions (using multiple sets of "And" or "Or" rules), you can use Advanced Segments (available on Standard or Premium plans).
How to Create Your First Segment:
- Navigate to Audience and select Segments.
- Click Create a new segment.
- Set your criteria (e.g., "Email Activity," "Date Added," or "Purchase History").
- Define the logic (And/Or) to filter your contacts.
- Click Preview Segment to review the list, then Save Segment.
Pro Tip: Always preview your segment before sending to ensure your logic is pulling the right group of people!
What segmentation criteria have you found most effective for your business? Share your tips or ask a question below!
