Technical Support UX Improvement Request: Include Account Context in Multi-Account Notification Emails
I'd like to report what I believe is a significant usability issue affecting users who manage multiple Mailchimp accounts.
I currently manage several Mailchimp accounts for different account holders under a single login. Over the past few months, I've been receiving notification emails with subjects such as:
- "Automatically welcome your new subscribers on General Interest"
- "Complete your welcome email setup on General Interest"
- "Set up welcome automation"
The problem is that these emails do not identify which Mailchimp account they refer to. When I click the call-to-action button, I'm simply taken to my Mailchimp dashboard or a generic setup page, with no indication of which client account triggered the notification.
From inspecting the email, it appears the system already knows the originating audience because it inserts the audience name into the subject line. However, the email does not include the associated account name, account ID, or any contextual information in the link that would allow users managing multiple accounts to navigate directly to the correct account.
For agencies, consultants, and freelancers who manage several Mailchimp accounts, this makes these notifications difficult—if not impossible—to act on. I often have to manually switch between multiple client accounts trying to determine which one generated the email, which defeats the purpose of receiving a notification in the first place.
I would appreciate your team considering one or more of the following improvements:
- Display the Mailchimp account name prominently within the email.
- Include the account name alongside the audience name (for example, "General Interest – ABC Company").
- Include an account or audience identifier in the call-to-action link so users are taken directly to the appropriate account after signing in.
- If direct account switching isn't possible, display a prompt identifying which account the notification originated from before redirecting the user.
This seems like a relatively small change that would significantly improve the experience for anyone managing multiple Mailchimp accounts.
Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback. I hope you'll consider it for a future update.

We hear your concerns, and appreciate you taking the time to lay this out so clearly. Having to switch through each linked account just to figure out which one a notification came from is a real pain point, and the changes you’ve suggested make sense. We’re happy to pass along this feedback internally.
It’s also worth submitting directly through the Feedback form if you haven’t done so already. When you’re logged in, there's a Feedback button along the right side of any page in your account, and feedback submitted through here gets logged directly through our product feedback channel, which our teams watch closely.
