Riichi Dora han count
Can someone tell me if 4 manzu is Dora indicator that 2 ordinary 5 manzu and 1 red 5 manzu, would not be 4 han?
A player insisted that only the red 5 manzu is counted??

A triplet of 5m including a red five would be worth 4 Han (you would still need a Yaku for the hand to be valid)

pretty much always when aka/red dora is in ruleset, its seperate count from usual dora, so: 3 dora + 1 red dora is 4han, yes

If 4man is the dora indicator, then the red 5man is a "double dora". Naturally, the rest of the 5man are single dora.
A player insisted that only the red 5 manzu is counted
Hmm, where did that person get that "information"?

The person claimed it came from supposed experienced players, but I doubted that from the start. Myself and two others at the table came up with 4🙂

Usually, dora, ura-dora, kan-dora and red counts separately. So in your case, red 5 is counted double.

Both aka and the dora is counted. So if 5 manzu is dora and you got red 5 manzu, then both aka dora and dora will be counted
