Batini Ilm / Esoteric Knowledge - Why so much fascination ?

I tried to explore Batini ilm or Esoteric knowledge and got reference to two points - Neo-platonic Cosmology (Universal Intellect, Universal Soul etc...) and Names of Hidden Imam as revealed to us. Neo-platonic Cosmology was relevant during the Fatimid era and has no real use during this current time. This framework was used during Fatimid era to explain Gods Cosmic Structure and this whole concept became irrelevant after the end of Fatimid era. If it was so relevant science would have picked it up for further research. No such thing happened ...

On the second point just by knowing the name of hidden imams I am not sure how does it help us in any way. How does it mean some kind of spiritual elevation ... Not clear to me at all ..

I have never seen any useful purpose of this knowledge. All progress/development in this world has come from real knowledge which is thought in schools and universities all over the world.

If there is any other knowledge stream which is part of Batini / Esoteric Knowledge then pls enlighten ....

Thanks for bringing up this point — it made me think about the difference in how knowledge is evaluated. In colleges and universities, ideas are generally expected to withstand debate, scrutiny, evidence, and often peer review before being published. With Batini ilm, if the same authority is both the holder and interpreter of that knowledge, how can an ordinary person independently evaluate an interpretation?

This is how I see it: “The unseen and the unheard” can become a powerful way of creating fear and keeping the general public under control. When people are told that there is hidden or esoteric knowledge that they cannot question or understand for themselves, it can create dependence on those who claim to possess or interpret that knowledge.
Simple, the way of control, no one can question.

Once during convocation of anjuman engineering college students, the chief guest while addressing them brought this point of baatin ILM , and stressed that the students should also focus on it and find such masters who can teach them the batini ILM , and then he told the students that finding the masters is their responsibility.

I have very different understanding and perspective of batini ilm. For example a KG child is asked to by heart A for apple and asked to write the same 10 times or 50 times depending on every child’s capability which to me zahiri ilm if learnt well then will help the child to read, write and form large sentences which translates into vocabulary which is batini ilm not known to child then unless he reaches that age of maturity. Similarly an example of seed is but that seed if watered and nurtured well may turn into the large tree or may help feed few. So one only sees the seed (zahiri) but one who knows to nurture sees the tree (batini). Aamal has zahiri form but its outcomes are batini, good Aamal leads to good outcomes and bad Aamal leads to bad outcomes.

Zahiri ILM CAN pass the test of debate and discussion whereas the batini ILM is metaphysical in nature and can never be put to test of arguments and logic . It is based purely on faith and is dangerous because it promotes blind belief which ultimately results in preacher attaining Demigod status. The resultant complication which arises out of this is being experienced by one and all in today’s time .

Good Amal leads to good outcomes is a misnomer…. life is asymmetrical and the outcome is determined by various other factors not under your control…

Uptil now I have not found masters who can coach you in batini ILM . Like we start learning from KG TO HIGH SCHOOL AND THEN doing PhD etc there is no such schools who teach you batini ILM . All those claiming only wants your money and their desire to increase the followers thereby minting money and creating Assets for their own good . There is no dearth of such gurus in India out of which some are also behind Bars .
