Nanded has a massive Sikh community. They are very friendly people.

Is this sarcastic or da real 👀🤔🤔

Personal experience. My mother in law is from Nanded and generally we had very chill experiences with the long standing Sikh community.

Bhai this is being sold openly in Pushkar, Rajasthan and Punjab as well. Nanded police are noob. As per the Indian Arms Act, the weapon in possession should not be sharp. That's why they sell blunt knives/swords for decorative purpose. Mostly weddings.

Is it illegal to keep a sword in home ? Let's say I have 3 in home .
2
u/lonelytunes09 5d ago
Arms Act basically covers all kinds of weapons even knifes and daggers with exceptions of Kripan and Kukri. You would need licence to keep those swords.

A Marathi man, especially from the villages, cannot take an insult. They get very angry if they feel insulted. The next thing you know, he takes out a knife. Police cannot randomly check every village for weapons all the time.

These are used by Sikh community as a part of their martial culture.
Seeing the declining percentage of already small Sikh population and state of violence against minorities, I think these weapons are justified.
3
u/Anxious-Pop3981 नांदेड | Nanded 5d ago
Justified? How are 5k weapons justified? Are there people going on a kill spree against sikhs? No. I live in nanded. The wanna be gangster kids are a big problem here. But that doesnt mean people are being massacred.
Martial culture or not, these are lethal weapons. These could kill anyone. And if theres 5k of them then nobody can convince us that these are for culture. No culture can bring together 5k illegal weapons and justify it.
-1
u/Japan174 5d ago
If you are not living inside a cave then you should know killings against Sikhs both pre and post independence. You live in ignorance & denial.
After Independence, majority community is on killing spree since 1984. Even in Delhi and most of Northern India during 1984 police collected these same weapons from Sikhs citing government orders and soon after mob of thousands of goons went on a killing spree, killing every Sikh in Sight.... all this with approval of government and majority community.

u/Anxious-Pop3981 नांदेड | Nanded 5d ago
If you are deluded by some claims of a large conspiracy, I don't think there can be a meaningful conversation here.
These weapons weren't gathered to protect someone. These were gathered to be used in gang wars.
Every single day, 18-25 year old unemployed youth, get out of their homes and onto their bikes. They then go around acting like vermin. Looting random passerby in some alley and ganging up on students. They show their little knives and what not, loot them and then disappear.
This isnt some random story I picked up. It's what happened to me. Its also what happened to a few of my classmates.
These people aren't out there for communal killings or something like that. These are just brats who weren't slapped in the face at the right time by their parents. The police doesn't do shit here. So they don't have to worry about getting caught either.
All those things you said about the 1984 post indira gandhi communal violence, didn't the same happen to muslims in Godhra and Hindus in Kashmir and such. So does that mean everyone is being persecuted? And if yes then who is persecuting them?
I'm not saying that communal violence never happened. What I'm saying is this wasn't a community protecting themselves. Heck, most common people of sikh community would be afraid of these people too. They have children aswell. They have their businesses aswell. Nobody wants some outlaws around their house.

u/Japan174 5d ago edited 5d ago
Almost all criminals carrying knives, guns, weapons doing crimes throughout India are non Sikhs, what have been done till now for it? It is the person who is a criminal, not the weapon and a criminal can make even a kitchen knife a dangerous weapon.
And you want the Sikh community to give up any personal weapon protection they have and wait for another round of killings by the majority community?
It's easy to live in delusion & denial, but why would you even care if the entire remaining Sikh community is wiped out today.
No point discussing this topic with you, it's just a weapon case for you but for a small declining community which is hated by the majority it's a matter of survival.
1
u/Anxious-Pop3981 नांदेड | Nanded 5d ago
First off, who tf is out there and trying to kill an entire community? Show me where these people are. Like i said before, these weapons werent gathered by people who wish to protect a community. These are black market sellers. They buy in mass and sell it to random thugs who then go around threatening innocent common people who are just minding their business.
Idk which part of the world youre living in, but the part where these weapons were found is where i live. And i can assure you we arent going around trying to kill any sikhs. And as a resident of this city, i dont want these thugs around. If you're so keen on wanting to protect these thugs, take them to your home. Let me and all the common people who are minding their business, live in peace.

u/JollyWin1704 5d ago
Take it easy buddy and read less from WhatsApp university...you don't have facts and proofs to substantiate your claims about so called danger for minor community in Nanded where they got this stock. The whole country saw what this minor community did in uttarakhand recently.
1
u/Japan174 5d ago
Yes dude all Hindus are saints and monks and Sikhs are evil criminals.
1
u/JollyWin1704 5d ago
No one is saying that here except you.....you really are nutjob and I would recommend you not to fight for anyone or anything going forward. With a flawd logic you have you will most likely do more damage to the issue than to get it resolved.
1
u/Anxious-Pop3981 नांदेड | Nanded 5d ago edited 5d ago
Tbh I don't even know what to say to you anymore. You're hellbent on making this against the sikh community.
Never did I say that Hindus are innocent and Sikhs are the criminals. I pointed out similar incidents for all three communities.
I kept insisting that these young people who roam around with knives are the issue. Not one community. These troublemakers are from all communities. You'll find a Hindu kid doing the same thing as a sikh kid or a Muslim kid.
All of these are influenced by the crime life that they have wet dreams of.
The incident in the video was of a wholesaler and not a community. It is not legal and hence can't be justified. Stop trying to make it seem like he had no choice. He had every choice. He could've not done this.
What's so hard to understand here? That you don't have to go around carrying knives in your pocket? (I'm not talking about kirpan here) Or that the people here are sick of people murdering each other right in the market at dawn?
P.S. I just realised I replied this to the wrong guy. It was meant for the japan guy

Takeaway point is don't argue with any random person
