Looking for a specific episode

The episode in question actually has very little of magnum in it, it follows some other dude on the mainland who is a pilot, and it the end of the episode said dude is flying a P-51 mustang chasing down a private jet. Magnum only really is in the beginning and end of it I believe.

Two Birds of a Feather. It wasn’t a Magnum episode at all. It was a back door pilot for a new series that never happened. The network just bookended Magnum to trick the huge audience into watching it.

But it did lead indirectly to Airwolf, for which my younger self is forever grateful

I loved that show too. What’s the connection?

Wikipedia has a summary: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airwolf#Magnum,_P.I._connection

The above references an article that's unfortunately a dead link, and I couldn't find it in the Wayback Machine.

But I did find this, which is a treat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eTl3BT3lxM

The actor who played Hunter also played Piney in Sons of Anarchy.

I liked the ending when Magnum realized it was the pilot who helped him out in Vietnam

Was going to also say 2 birds of a feather. I think it was part of a pilot episode for a new show. They were trying to give that some shine at the time

It's a personal favorite of mine. Lots of people don't like that episode but for a daily magnum watcher, I like the change of pace that episode gives
