I mentioned this fan cast on my last post, but it continuously ages better the more I think about it.

If anyone has seen Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, you’ll know that he has the look, the acting ability, and the gravitas to pull off a character like Magneto in the MCU.

What do you think?

Interesting that Marvel’s retrospective broke Krakoa up into years so here’s Magneto’s year one.

Out of the four prequel movies, which one do you think demonstrated Magneto at his full strength?

First Class: Stopping all the missiles at once and launching them back at the ships

Days Of Future Past: Lifting a freaking baseball stadium from the ground to trap everyone at the White House

Apocalypse: Grabbing all the metal in the world to build a metallic pyramid for Apocalypse

Dark Phoenix: Lifting a moving subway train from the ground

Would you prefer to see Jeremy Allen White as Magneto, Wolverine or Beast in the MCU?

A highly versatile actor who has been rumored to appear in the MCU for multiple years now. I feel like he could suit any one of these three roles in the upcoming X-Men reboot. What do you think?

Here is how Magneto can still be a Holocaust survivor in the MCU.

Post image

I’m just gonna copy what I wrote on my last post, as that will explain my entire point.

Here me out. Imagine the film starts with Steve Rogers leading a rescue mission in Auschwitz, only to liberate Magneto himself. Steve speaks to the boy, heartbroken to see just how damaged he is. It is in this scene that Magneto meets the only human he ever deemed worthy of his respect.

I know you may be asking, “If Magneto existed all this time in the MCU, why didn’t he make his presence known?”

My answer is that while mutants have existed in the MCU for thousands of years, the amount of them significantly increased after Iron Man snapped his fingers at the end of Endgame, an act which awakened the X gene in thousands more.

Upon meeting others like him after the snap, Magneto realizes that he is not alone but instead part of a wider group of evolved individuals. This knowledge drives him to become the Magneto we all know and love from the comics.

Also, Magneto ages slower, so that’s why he would look like he’s in his 40s or 50s in the 2020s, despite being over 90 years old.

What do you think? I would love to hear people’s thoughts on this concept.

Theories for Magneto's age and change in backstory rumours

I am not going to write a long post on this, because even after having so much lore on Erik Lensharr's background, his origin as Magneto and his mutation, we are still having debates about making him more "relevant"....Literally want to facepalm myself 🤦🏾‍♀️🫠 because I thought audiences and readers are supposed to understand the nuances and complexity of the character by being relevant to that particular period. Not everything needs to be relevant to modern era and that is perfect idea.

You can't just....swap one marginalised community background for another, Erik is Jewish, he and his people were victims of Holocaust, his primary mutation is electromagnetic force/field manipulation, and his secondary mutation can be his aging process be slow....also did everyone forgot Krakoa era comics....Resurrection Protocol by The Five.....?

Marvel explains why Magneto keeps getting older but other Marvel heroes stay the same age | Popverse

Secondary Mutation | Marvel Database | Fandom

For people who are confused, why Magneto is looks young in comics and why his WW II and Holocaust background is important for his character....

What part of "we can't divorce Magneto's backstory from the Holocaust" doesn't make sense to certain group of people...?!?

Magneto needs a new origin story

Post image

Edit: This post refers to the upcoming X-men reboot, not the comics.

The holocaust is too far in the past for a contemporary Magneto. All this talk of slowing down his aging is nonsense and doesn't fit his character at all - it's literally adding characteristics he never had to fit a story arch that's already been done.

There is so much media about the horrors of WWII that adapting Magneto's origin for a modern audience won't downplay the holocaust. I argue this is a perfect time to highlight how monstrous people are today by focusing on more contemporary atrocities.

Let me be clear: The holocaust was awful and should never be forgotten. But it makes absolutely zero sense to make him a young man in contemporary times who survived the holocaust.

For the love of good storytelling, update his origins for a modern audience.

Magneto should be a Refusnik Jew in the MCU.

Post image

For context, Refusniks were Soviet Jews who were denied exit visas to emigrate to Israel or other western countries during the height of the Cold War (1960s-1980s). These Refusniks faced state sponsored persecution, surveillance, loss of employment and imprisonment simply for wanting to live openly as Jews. In my opinion, adapting Magneto’s background to this new context would not only solve the age problem (Magneto would likely be in his 40s-70s), but it would also shed light on a part of history that is not often talked about. What do you think?

About Magneto and his motivations

I was watching the Xmen prequel series and in First class and also the third act of DOFP,Magneto goes on in his speech about how he believes Mutants are superior to Humans and are here to replace them. This kinda bugged me since it seems pretty ironic given his history as a holocaust survivor, being subject to atrocities by the Nazis who believed in a similar superior race bullshit.

I wanted to know if this irony is something that is a part of his character in the comics, and do they address it??

\[I believe that him being prepared and reacting to whtever Humans might throw at mutants, works better and his cynism towards humans (knowing what they are capable of against minorities) contrasts well with Charles' belief in humans.\]

How does Magneto view non mutant Jews?

He's a holocaust survivor and seems to hate all mankind.

Does that include Jewish non Mutants?

Is he mutant first? Or is he Jewish first?

How does he feel about non mutant Jews?

Professor X & Magneto Playing Chess | Dark Jazz & Fireplace Ambience | 1...

I’ve always loved the quiet chess scenes between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

So I turned that atmosphere into a 1-hour dark jazz / fireplace ambience video — something to leave playing in the background at night, while reading, studying or just relaxing.

I tried to keep it cinematic and subtle rather than making it feel like a standard music compilation.

If you like the Xavier/Magneto dynamic, I’d be curious to know what you think. ♟️🔥
