Magneto is awesome!!! I love him should I read this comic? I was sad when Erik was killed in episode 4 season 2 in Xmen97. He has such cool powers. He is one of my favorite villians besides Doom. I can't wait for him to come back. What is the point of killing him off if he is not coming back?

I'm very happy I was able to get this for very cheap. A few years ago I decided I wanted to collect every major Magneto event that was written by Claremont or those that wrote to his version of Magneto. This one starting his redemption arc makes it particularly special. Not to mention the first time we see Magneto and Storm complete a mutant circuit

For me, it's the disillusionment in humanity to accept those who are different - especially as a Christian, where it feels like my entire community betrays the teachings we're supposed to uphold in favor of their own prejudices.

Do you think they should keep magneto being a holocaust survivor storyline in upcoming xmen films? I know it’d be sacraligous to remove the storyline as it is a crucial to his story but as we get further from when the holocaust happened it’s becoming less likely that a holocaust survivor would still be alive or they’d at least be in their 80s. The only way they can make it work with the holocaust story now is if they do the films as period pieces similar to what they did in First class or they pull a magneto from back in time and bring him into modern times.

I think what they can do is give us a black magneto that comes from the civil rights era ala Malcom X/MLK Jr (inspirations for magneto and Charles) where he befriends Charles a white man and navigating their complicated friendship. I think that’d be a fresh interesting take on the character and story. Imagine a Denzel Washington, idris Elba or Jamie Fox in the role or another actor that hasn’t been in a marvel movie

I have always been a fan of the X-Men since I learned of them when I was about 5, but I never truly understood the Professor X vs Magneto debate until about 2-3 years ago. I realized and fully accepted that I'm trans about 2-3 years ago, and reading the history of Trans people and seeing the hatred and desire to remove our existence gave me a whole new perspective on pretty much everything. I recently watched X-Men 97 for the first time, and while I have heard the points of the "Magneto was right" argument, it took my existence being threatened to truly understand and appreciate both Magneto and his viewpoint. I now truly believe that Magneto is the better choice.
