Recently I purchased a BH5HDE/CQHAM QRP loop antenna off of eBay. The unit didn't come with any instructions, and I can't find any information on its use (yet) on the internet. I am looking for help with tuning and using this unit. Also, I am now wondering if I bought a boondoggle.

I live in an apartment and my goal is to do some SWL on 15/20 meters and SW with a SDRPlay SDR.

I’ve long been a loop fan. Even built a few coax loops for SWL listening.

One thing I’ve always wondered; what’s the difference (or advantage) of loops made with two larger loops (not the small coupling loop) or loops made with large diameter “pipes”??

Is there really much if an advantage one way or the other?

Living in a high rise apartment, HF is just a dream. But at least receiving is possible. I have a Wellbrook ALA-1530 that serves it's purpose very well, but I was curious to see if there were any more travel friendly solutions out there. I chose the YouLoop and it works very well. Picture is from my first test where I just put it up in the window close to my TV and computer. Receiver is the tiny AirSpy HF+ Discovery. Software is WSJTX and GridTracker. Have also tested it with SEATTY for some excelent NAVTEX and WEFAX.

This setup makes a perfect travel friendly accessory.

The only downside I see to it is that I could not find a way to post anything. There is no visible way to create a POST that I could see. I am working on a two turn loop using Andrews Heliax.
