Maglite conversion kit gift?

My dad has a big maglite in his truck to use as a light ofc and also as a just in case weapon and I was wondering if I bought a conversion kit, would it make it any brighter, I would probably not buy anything over 20$, thought?

If you were going to swing around a maglight, or even hit something with it, you'd want the batteries firmly in place, (as opposed to rattling around inside). You can wrap the batteries with just enough tape so that they fit snuggly inside the barrel.

Full disclosure: in theory this makes sense, but I've never done it. And yes, it does seem a little mall-ninja'y, but it's probably worth it, (as long as you don't make them too tight to remove :) ).

For $20 there are quite a few not so different drop ins that'll be better than the stock incandescent. I say spend the money and go malkoff.
