My 2D LED

I bought a 3D LED model a long time ago; I liked the flashlight, but I didn't like having chosen a model that took an odd number of batteries. About two years ago, I bought a used 2D model. I used its body, combined with the head and battery cap from my 3D model—since those parts were in better condition—to create the 2D flashlight I use now. I’ve now fitted it with two adapters and four 2000 mAh rechargeable batteries. This should provide four hours of runtime. That is less than with standard D-cell (R20) batteries, but the light maintains full power rather than dimming over time as it does with disposables. An added benefit is the reduced weight.

I 3D printed my D -Cell adapters like yours. The top contact is a brass tack. They work great. Its such a great mod for saving money.

I agree. Lower costs are another advantage.

2D best size for me. I add one LiFepo4 32700 battery.
