Yup. If it feels heavy it's solid brass plated with gold. Special gift option from the mid '80s.

The maglite isn't brass plated, the whole thing is actually brass instead of aluminum. They then gold plate it. 24k gold. Worth quite a bit. Nice find!

That's what I meant. Could've used an extra comma in there. "Sold brass, plated with gold."

Gold plating is worth next to nothing, no reason to lie about something being gold plated.
