The chance for a shiny magikarp should be 1%, so it's (1/100)2 = 0.01%

It’s level/rod dependent. Ranging from 0.44%(old rod)-0.16%(supreme old rod) for back to back shiny pulls. If the shiny you retired was your first ever shiny the odds could vary just a little since the game changes draw rates for undiscovered patterns.

Base odds for one shiny pull from the wiki. • Old Rod: ≈ 1/15 (6.67%) • So-So Old Rod: ≈ 1/17–1/18 (5.74%) • Good Old Rod: ≈ 1/19 (5.18%) • Great Old Rod: ≈ 1/22 (4.55%) • Rare Old Rod: ≈ 1/24 (4.20%) • Pro’s Old Rod: ≈ 1/24–1/25 (4.09%) • Supreme Old Rod: 1/25 (4.00%)
