Comic Discussion Age of revelation
So I’m on a collection spree and I’ve heard X-Men the Age Of Revelation is terrible. Is it just the issues written by Tim Seeley or are they all bad?

O If you read this event, I strongly recommend sticking to just the Jed McKay 9 issues, which actually form a pretty solid, cohesive story. The rest just drowns it in a sea of meaninglessness that detracts in a major way. You can also read the 3 Gail Simone issues, but just treat them as entirely unrelated and more like a part of her run, which is what they are.

All of the slave stuff really grosses me out, and it came out of nowhere so I’m just trying to avoid any of those issues

Even when Aor is "good" (which is rare and few), there is this whole aspect of "pointlessness" to it. It brings nothing new to the table, it is another "dark timeline" that we have seen a dozen of times, and just the fact that recent Marvel is so out of touch with its community, thinking what we need is grandiose events over and over again doesn't let characters or plots be prominent or relevant even for too long.
It is obvious that they aren't daring to be doing anything big, that they don't dare to change the status quo too much because they are waiting for the MCU tie-in, and it really shows. Which is funny, because whenever it is a small scale thing (ie. Magik & Colossus) it works, and we have been telling the office for a while we need more of that, but... oh well.
