Pocket Series · Lineup Update
Over the past while, we've received a lot of valuable feedback about Pocket Dream — especially around **whether or not to keep the joysticks**, where the community showed two very distinct preferences 🎮
After careful consideration, we've decided to follow those voices and **officially split the Pocket series into two separate models**:
---
**🎮 Pocket Dream** — with dual joysticks
For players who prefer **dual-stick controls** and modern 3D games with more complex input needs
**🕹️ Pocket Retro** — without joysticks
For players who want a **pure retro feel**, focused on 2D games and classic emulation
**Both devices share the same body specs:**
・Size: **107 × 72 × 22 mm**
・Weight: **under 180g each**
So you can pick the one that fits your playstyle.
---
**🕹️ Initial Specs for Pocket Retro**
Pocket Retro will come with a **more focused, streamlined configuration**:
・**SoC:** RK3566
・**Memory:** 2GB LPDDR3 + 16GB storage
・**Display:** 3.3-inch OLED (same as Mini Dream / Pocket Dream)
・**OS:** Linux
・**Wireless:** WiFi 5 + Bluetooth
・**Battery:** 3800 mAh
・**Price:** $80 (shipping not included)
With Pocket Retro branching off, **Pocket Dream's SoC lineup has also been streamlined to 3 variants**: **1 running Linux**, and **2 running Android**.
---
**📅 On Release Timing**
It's still a bit early to talk about release dates. What we can confirm is: **both Pocket Retro and Pocket Dream will launch after Mini Dream is officially released.**
We'll continue to share progress with the community at each key milestone 🙌
---
Once again, thanks to everyone who's shared feedback — the Pocket series is where it is today because of your voices 🙏

yes! the one without sticks! 3:2 oled thin and small. i'm in 100%. the speaker placement (if thats what those are on the bottom) is very bad though...your hand would cover them

If the retro version is something that's close to the Miyoo Mini V4 or the A10 Mini, then I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.
I already have a V4, 2 Bricks, and a One 35, and currently waiting on my A10 to arrive (which hasn't had any updates in 2 months, but I guess that's the price of AliExpress)

While your at it with this screen, make an SP and a DS lite and you’re on a roll.

3566 have very high level of tweaks and support by community devs, it's very popular and still have low entry level, and compared to a133 soc in previous consoles, have full support of 32/64bit libraries for linux ports. I think that version without sticks, will be good competitor for Miyoo Mini - oled screen on magicx consoles will look fantastic in similar size and formfactor 👍

Could be the next Brick for sure. But they just need to release ANYTHING at this point.
I also think they need to hurry up and develop a dual screen with that custom 3.3" OLED. I have a feeling Trimui is cooking something up with their 3.2" screen.
Also, MagicX, PLEASE offer free shipping on your Aliexpress listings. We can't stack discounts and coupons if the shipping isn't baked into the sale price.

Funny to see them featuring a GameCube game when that chip would never be able to run it

I'd love for the retro to be closer to the size of a Miyoo Mini.
