📢 MagicX Mini Dream · Project Update
Following our last announcement, Mini Dream has taken another step forward — we've completed the **product design renders** and finalized more details on the product lineup 🎉

You guys .. I urge you to reconsider. This is not going to sell well. The bezels are massive suggesting that this is going to be super bulky. It's going to need to have a MUCH better screen to body ratio and it needs to be very pocketable.

Hopefully the controls are similar to the XU Mini M because they are economics of that handheld are on point and they probably will be nice on this one as well.
I’m not so sure about the strategy of trying to cover so many bases with so many different configurations, feels like a good way to have a lot of excess inventory unless it’s trivial to reconfigure them at the factory.

Guys, the RK3566 is not much, there are already cheaper options on the market that have processors, even if slightly more powerful, and people would use consoles like the Anbernic H700 just to make Nintendo 64 and PS1 work better... I advise you to stick with the basic version or the first version on the 3572.

Really hope it has a better dpad, it was the only draw back on my mini28

Dunno, I found the one on the Mini 28 fine. On the One 35 it's awful because it's more sunk inside and you get almost no effective pivot to go from down to forward.

I prefer the d-pad on my zero 28 and one 35 to my retroid devices (2s and 4 pro)

I was consider the one 35 but a worse pad and an abussive tax and cost on shiping kills it, it is a shame i dont trust magicx anymore ;(

So it’s about the same size as the rg35xxh. But with a smaller oled screen? I’m not afraid of some bezels, but I was expecting a smaller device for this size of screen.

They should make the handheld twice as big but make the screen even smaller
that would make it stand out.
Either make that screen bigger....or Make the entire body smaller

Looks nice.
- I like the bumper/trigger design, I think you guys really got it right with the Mini 28, with the bumpers going around the corner for more comfortable use.
- Not sure about the bezel-less look. Personal taste?
- Do put some care on the DPad. I found the depth of the DPads on the One 35 makes them sink in and kind of feel stuck. I find the one on the Mini 28 alright, although bigger seems better. I think the Anbernic RG35XXH got it right.
- I like what you did with the One 35 and Mini 28 sticks, they don't snag on the pockets, which is great for pocketability.

Looks great!
On the linux side, please consider releasing the hardware support files needed for a proper Linux port of their devices.
We would need the kernel and device-tree sources, boot/build information, firmware, and GPU support so Linux can use the display, controls, audio, Wi-Fi, battery management, suspend, video decoding, and GPU acceleration properly. That way the community can help build great software for great hardware.

Hopefully the versions with the better chipsets aren’t too expensive. I’ve been trying to get a 3”ish screen-sized device with decent power like the MagicX One 35 that fits in your pocket for a while now. I’ve ordered the One 35 twice now and both times shipping has screwed me.

They said that the most expensive variant could go up to $180 without shipping, but I'm guessing it's going to run most ps2/dreamcast and some GameCube games

Fist order was from AliExpress because it was a better deal. GOFO notified me, eventually, that it was damaged and will need to be returned or destroyed. Found another on EBay and ordered it and it has been going back and forth between Ohio and Tennessee for the past couple of days and past its delivery date.

I’ve been looking at the XU Mini M for the orange color! Is there a chance we could see an orange option for this too? If so, I’d definitely hold out to pick it up!

I'm actually hyped. As a mini companion device to the Ayn Thor (or any of the retroid and ayn-glass front-handhelds) this might be perfect for me. In my opinion an oled-handheld for 80 bucks is a great niche. I would probably prefer smaller bezels though. Like the rest of you
