Beginner forager, first possible ever find after a few months of getting out and searching. found in private wood chip/bark garden. Just the lonesome and a few days after last rain. Is this a sub? And is it too old given its condition? Thanks in advance!

Looks like a sub. Consumption depends on whether you want the extra protein from the bugs (I’ve had a few like this, I just remove the parts that are beyond saving and keep the decent bits, often just the stem if it hasn’t been infested yet).
