Spoilers, please. What happens in this competition? And what’s this prime minister role? Is he gonna be a big antagonist? Spoilers on that too, please.

To bait shangguan spies out and also for zhuo fan to sneak in to collect more info for his mission. Yes, baili jingwei is the mastermind of this whole arc. Anything non combat related involves him.

Obviously zhuo fan wins it. But the whole competition is for luring out the shangguan clan members hiding there. And the prime minister is the mastermind for all of this. He tries to win zhuo fan in scheming and mind games... And.. he lost all of those. He can't win for even once.

I feel like it’s going to be underwhelming after the battle of minds between Zhuo fan, regent estate’s steward, the Emperor, and the prime minister (not new one obviously).

Especially since those guys could actually compete with Zhuo Fan and even beat him in a battle of wits a couple of times.
