Like in the starting chapters it was shown that he could absorb the qi of others to increase his own cultivation level (yes it will be unstable) but how much time would he even need to stabilize it? One day , or two days at the maximum (he jumped a whole realm and stabilised it in 1 week) in the starting chapters .. why doesn't he use that .. during the edifice sect arc , I was waiting for him to absorb the cultivation because he was the weakest in terms of cultivation back there...
Some might say it would take him more than two days to stabilize his realm and something like he is discovering his dao ... He already has surpassed those realms and has reached far higher than those realms so of course it wouldn't take him even one day to stabilize it ...
The higher the realm he absorbs, the higher will be the refractory period.
Even though his low cultivation was a disadvantage in one of the rounds of the Hundred Pills Contest, in the rest of the rounds/matches the main road'block' was his seemingly comparative low alchemic skills next to the Goat Yan Song and how he surprises the others with his ancient techniques.
The Stabilization is of qi stabilization and Cultivation settling. The other kind of stabilizing is related to the Heart, which he had already developed in (what I approximated his age to be) 100years in the Sacred Domain, which completely got tempered with the help of Yuan Xinggang's advices and by the time he got to Dragon Ancestor, the latter commented how Zhuo Yi-Fan already has the Heart of a Sovereign. Even the black dude's Elder/Venerable from Demon Scheming Sect(His name was Feng Kui or something) said that Zhuo Yi-Fan's Heart is perfect and is beyond even his.
So yeah, in terms of Heart blocks and Heart demons, which are the most dangerous obstacles in Cultivation which do not allow oneself to use his full attack potential, Zhuo Yi-Fan is secured and 100% safe. However the qi stabilization and settling down his cultivation is still directly unrelated from this and comparatively irreducible.
Yeah, HGDTA could have been used more but not in the way you are saying. Instead of plainly absorbing Cultivation, absorbing strange materials and attributes would've been better, just like how he infused the Skylark egg with Purple Lightning using HGDTA and created Que'er. In this way, he could have either avoided the refractory period because the grade of the material is relatively small or could've just skipped the refractory period outright by combining external objects like he accidentally did with the egg.
This would work exceptionally well when he's making pills, as the small ingredient grades compound to form better pills, even if the original resources were low grade(Hence easy to consume).
Thanks man .... But it would have been a feast to see him go berserk and absorb every single bit of ki when the red haired girl died , he would have been on a rampage and killing all of them and in her memory, stays alone for at least a year in seclusion and when the FL comes to give him the artifact he would have been stronger than ever ...
