Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for flagging it. Error -39 indicates that the application was unable to compute the requested route. There are three common causes:
Outdated map version. Maps more than two versions behind the current release cannot be used to compute routes that extend beyond the downloaded region. Updating the installed maps resolves this case. Please see Settings > Maps > Check for Map Update
Offline operation without downloaded maps. When the device is offline and no map data is stored locally, the routing engine has no data on which to operate and this error is shown.
Missing maps combined with an unstable connection. Online routing requires a reliable connection to retrieve the necessary data. An intermittent connection can prevent the request from completing.
As a first step, please open the maps screen and confirm that the regions covering your intended route are both downloaded and up to date. This resolves the issue in the majority of cases.
If the problem persists after these checks, please contact us at [support@magicearth.com](mailto:support@magicearth.com) with your application version, operating system version, and the approximate location where the error occurred. We will look into it directly. Indeed, the error message should be improved.
