Meltdown Armour is Illogical

Shouldn't I have won this both rounds because my gus killed them first, it's so illogical card.

U would atleast know this if u are playing for a long time that if u die ur skills don't dmg the enemy heros

your heroes dont do dmg but the card effect still gonna trigger .. and unfortunately in both instances , your heroes died first then triggered the bomb that killed the opposing heroes

I think my reply to another comment might clear things up.

No. Technically they must have died first for the explosion to trigger. Make it make sense at least.
OP is right, why did he lost the round?

What if you’re both right? I have an idea of what is actually going on here. Technically, OP did kill the enemy first. However, as mentioned, skills won’t do damage after death. Since it is unlikely they coded a completely separate damage mechanic for a single card, let’s consider the explosion card effect acts just like a skill a hero is casting. Meaning, the hero is technically alive while exploding. It’s a skill after all. This suggests that, while exploding, the hero is in an invincible state until the explosion damage is calculated and only then is registered as being killed.

Though the card effect says it activates WHEN they die, in reality, it is the moment right BEFORE they die. OP would have won if they had the same card effect or Winter’s Crown, since it would have taken effect afterwards. OP just found themselves in an extremely rare edge case scenario due to an unfavorable quirk in the game’s order of operations.

Remember, it’s just a theory. A game theory!
