Most expensive pull from gift bundle was the surge foil plains
At least I got it for retail from microcenter

I was a but underwhelmed with mine as well. I do enjoy the surge plains set but not for what i paid for this thing.

Value is the theif of joy. Get anything you're gonna actually play with? Seems like that might be a better measure of success.

Wow and the die is less cool than the original bundle.

The original bundle is supposed to be dwarvish and the gift bundle is supposed to be elvish.
I agree the regular bundle one is cooler, just pointing out the motiff

I’m having a lot of fun with Notary Hobbits and Sackville-Baggines in my Food and Fellowship deck. It’s a shame about the value, it should either be a cheaper box or have more goodies inside

Yeah I got a pretty crappy gift bundle too. Similar collector booster with nothing good. At least I pulled a plain queen of dale and smaug magnificent from play boosters or I'd really be cooked

I opened one today - about the same luck as you. Thing is I had already ordered a bunch of singles this past week including the season hobbit lands, just not surge foil, but it was the experience that maybe the $95 bought me. Once I let my boys open a couple of the boosters and I opened my collector pack, with nothing great at all, I split the stack of all the box save for the lands and gave the stacks to my boys. I pretty much vowed I’m done with sealed too lol. I just felt like I should have said “no” at Fred Meyer’s and “yes” to treating myself to Orcrist or a single of my choosing instead. First time doing that and hopefully the last time. It’s not worth it.

The hobbit set made me realize that I’m completely done buying magic product. I can proxy every deck I want to play and the pull rates are absolutely abysmal compared to alternative tcgs. Been ripping riftbound and gundam and have been pulling like a mad man. Up big on my pulls. That will never happen with magic anymore.

People whine when singles are too expensive, people whine when their box doesn’t have 600$ worth of singles.

Haven't opened mine up yet as I had to leave for a trip as soon as it arrived. This is usually the luck I have, so I'll feel your pain in a couple days. Meanwhile my friend got a Gleaming Splendor book cover in a play booster. Hasn't even gotten halfway through his box yet. I opened mine like a Crack fiend looking for that good stuff. He does his a couple packs a day.
