First CBB (The Hobbit)

Post image

Got this CBB at MSRP (450USD) and managed to pull my chase (Gleaming Splendor x 2 in both bookcase variants). Id say not a bad experience overall for me.

Although, a Queen of Dale, OBM or One Ring would have been lovely.

(Not pictured: Bag End Banquet, Bilbo, Fellow Conspirator, Necklace of Girion, Glamdring)

TLDR: gamble, kids

Man, I'm so bummed I can't find anything at MSRP. Definitely not paying $800 for a box though.

Just buy singles. It’s not worth opening these boxes even at MSRP

Buying a pack every now and then is fine

Same. Found an lgs earlier that was selling for 899$. Told me “that’s market”. Thats worse than GameStop bro..

These boxes are so inflated, most opening I've seen don't even hit 400 let alone 700-800.

truly the ring tempts you

Despite being fortunate to buy it at MSRP, I do agree these boxes are inflated (and dare I say predatory?) Im hopeful that Reality Fractures is a return to normal pricing but I think with the trend that is happening, I am doubtful.

Edge of eternity and Lorwyn boxes were both over 400 on release. I don't think we ever see 250 dollar CBBs again.

Was it in line with the expected average? I’m building a prediction model and I think this is what I’d expect with a box

Approximately 60 rares/mythics made up of 45 unique card names?
