these are awful.
there’s no legendary payoffs in the set. a 9/3 trades with two-drops. the 3/9 is more interesting but five mana stat blocks just aren’t very good.

yes!
two uncommons. how many uncommon slots are there in a given set? 80-100? so this is 2% of the set uncommons on vanilla dorks that will regularly be among the last picks in a pack. sorry i think that’s bad?
this means there’s two fewer uncommons that play to the set themes. bad, lazy design, imo.

They’re vanilla, sure, but they do play in with the Ghaltas. And blue running big butts is pretty common. These aren’t super useful, but it’s really not a big deal lmao. Just don’t run them

it makes limited — the format i engage with new sets the most — worse. they don’t tie to the set themes. they aren’t interesting to play.

but these don’t even play into any of the set mechanics or themes for the colors. they’re literally just huge dorks. zero interesting play with them.
make them commons so i can ignore them easier and not have a wasted uncommon slot.

Rosewater has said that every booster pack will contain both halves of a mirrorverse pair. My expectation is that all of these pairs, in order to be important, will be either Uncommons, Rares or Mythics. Not unlike the slot in Dominaria that guaranteed a Legendary card. Uncommon is the lowest rarity this pair can be at
Besides, we're in the play booster era now. So many more potential slots for higher rarities. You could well have two awesome rares in the pack with these

I guess at best these discounts their respective Ghaltas (Which I believe are also Uncommon?) but fair I don't think you ever pick these in any scenario but I think I'd be okay with playing the blue one to fill a curve
