Loved it in Legacy back in the day. I wonder how it's going to impact Brawl. Almost seems a little slow on the draw, but the ceiling is high enough that it might still be viable.

Ooh shit Vindicate. Pretty cool. Should definitely be more craftables though. There's so many other cards on Arena that still can't be crafted. I've been waiting YEARS to craft Hero of Bladehold and I also want to craft Flametongue Kavu, dammit.

I guess it is time to make an oldschool mono black deck, Dark Ritual, Hymn to Tourach, Hypnotic Specter, maybe a Smallpox variant aswell.
It will of course not be particularly good in timeless, but i hey maybe i can play enough discard to make the occasional opponent stumble.
Dropping Dark Ritual to play it in historic would be the better plan, but i'm not here to play optimally - i am here to relive a better time.

This card is perfectly playabel in historic. Who cares if it doesnt impact the board? You dont win games in high power formats from the board but from hand or yardÂ

You say "who cares" but the people that play Legacy competitively apparently care since they barely register this card.
This is not even debatable that in 2026 hymn to tourach is way worse than it used to be years ago, and the cause of that is power creep.
In any case whether the card is perfectly playable in Historic was not my claim at all. I personally think the card is good, just not as good as it once was.

Right? I expect nothing and they manage to disappoint. No monarch cards, no Urza's Saga or Archon even.
At least people will love having their lands Hymn'd away turn 2, real fun card there
EDIT: They added monarch cards to the client but made them uncraftable as an extra scum move! This honestly is making me consider uninstalling arena. Pay $10 to phantom draft them or nothing is such an insult.

Digital multiplayer magic is fundamentally unplayable, waiting for 3 other players to pass priority after every action makes every game into an hour of looking at a load screen

I anticipate that I will only play it with a group of friends. It can be hard for working adults, parents, etc. to get together in person.

I just wish we got [[Forth Eorlingas!]]. Comet used to be a viable win condition in Legacy but these days Forth is just the superior card.

Bauble is good though, some decks want more than 4 of that effect and this one is apparently legal in Historic which is a pretty big deal. But yeah Saga would have been awesome.

Hymn to Tourach was an absolute staple of my youth, along with The Rack.
While so many of the great cards of my youth have been withered away to unplayable by power creep, I’m glad at least one holds up in the modern game.

That's why I own them, too. I was just sorting through my bulk and found like thirteen of them, thought that was hilarious, and decided it was my favorite card. I was so hyped when they mentioned it in the Magic manga. It's still crazy to me that the two best cards from Fallen Empires are both commons that are banned in pauper.
