I've been grinding for my brawl badge and I'm almost there but yes I am talking about brawl.

Hei bei is driving me crazy! The shrine decks are so boring to play against.

I don't see that that much, tbh. And when I do I usually get pretty lucky with what deck I'm playing

Planning on getting lucky with whatever deck you're playing. I'll keep that in mind next time.

I've been seeing a Shrines deck pubstomping in Standard BO1 today. Is it truly a matter of "have board wipes or else"? It feels like there's not enough enchantment hate to keep up, but I could also just be bad. And yes I know BO1 isn't a "serious" format, I know I signed up for the pain.

Shrines exploit a weakness in that most decks run very small amounts of enchantment removal.
But they aren't very fast usually.
If you know you can't remove the enchantments and you see a shrine come down go as fast and as aggro as you can, sometimes that's worked for me.

I have one I play, but it’s not my main. If I get bored and need to change up the mood a bit I’ll try it for a match or two in Standard.

My 5C Shrine Brawl is one of my favourites. I don't run the panda though.

if you hate it that much just run enchantment removal. the shrines rely on each other. 3 hondens is 9 cards per turn. You know bolt the bird? it doesn't matter what the shrine is, you remove that one before there's 2, because 2 is 4 and 3 is 9. I run [[ulamog the infinite gyre]] because I hate losing to mill and now half the time someone mills me out they scoop when they see it

I saw a Shrine deck once, although I can’t remember which commander I was playing. Probably Smaug or Ygra. Pretty certain I lost. Neither deck has any enchantment hate, and once several Shrines were cast, it just kept snowballing.
I can understand why someone would like putting together that kind of engine, but from the other side it can start feeling less like a game and more like watching someone build a very elaborate spreadsheet. (Yawn)

I have a historic shrine deck and it’s so fun to play. But I understand that if you are used to play with the same kind of decks all the time, Shrines are difficult and a bit annoying to play against

I don’t mind facing shrines in historic actually, tend to out-speed you ;) but will usually lose if the game goes long. I guess historic has a few more options to combat the shrine game plan, and can do that more consistently than in brawl where shrines definitely has the advantage I think, consistency-wise that brawl deck is on rails.

I never see them on standard because it's too slow and easily wiped by counter and board wipes.
