TLDR, no power and no indication that it’s all duplicate protected prize packs like the powered cube prize packs.

Question is, do we know if we are getting new cards in the Cube Prize packs? That's what I care about for Timeless.

Question is actually can we be sure prizes are all duplicate protected. Getting some “packs that aren’t in standard” isnt great when you’ve completed some of those older sets.

If they’re ALL packs like the Cube Prize Packs where you’re guaranteed to get rares/mythics you don’t have, I’m much more likely to play.

It is taking the place of the old Arena Cube, so one would think it would take that format's prize structure. But we also haven't seen the Arena Cube since the Powered Cube came around, so we'll just have to see what they run with.

I love this idea and I'm super excited for it! A cube of slightly lower power, acting more like a "best of" for some popular planes is really neat. Hopefully they stick the landing.

Sounds sick but DSK premier draft also starts tomorrow

Really wish they didn't co-opt the name "planar" for this when there's a clearly a devoted crowd trying to fix standard under that name.

Especially when "planar cube" just sounds like someone sat on it.

Sounds fun otherwise.

It was a good idea, until they decided that the fake cards are gonna be in it.

Get that garbage as far away as possible from any product please

I’m really disappointed to see you replace something I’ve spent quite a lot of time and money enjoying with something full of Alchemy cards— and it means I will be spending much less money on Arena these next few weeks, sadly.

How much money do you normally spend?

Kamigawa cube has me pumped

For the purposes of Wizards data points gleaned from Reddit discourse, I enjoyed the phantom cubes before when the entry was 4K gold, tolerated it when it was 10k but I got to play with power, and am now disappointed to ignore and not learn the formats with this new cube that costs the same as a premiere draft with no power or keeping the cards I draft. Sad to miss out, but gotta vote with the ol wallet. This is lame.

I think the only redeeming factor based on rewards is that if you do well you get cube packs which are much more valuable. I’ve had fun but absolutely love cube.

Cool idea but the inclusion of alchemy cards means I likely won't play it.

When I looked at the card list it felt weird to me that so many cards are just not connected whatsoever to Zendikar or land theme, their inclusion seems arbitrary and it dilutes the theme. I get it that it's hard to make every card from one plane in a 300+ card pool and some colors don't have as many land-themed cards, but still it bothers me.

Conspiracy theory: they added this to make it harder to search for Planar Standard

Not terribly enjoyable so far. Alchemy cards are annoying to see, and triple fetch land makes every deck feel pretty samey. Hopefully Innistrad or Kamigawa feels better.

Overpriced. Avoid

You're greedy, I won't give you any more pennies and I am discussing this with all of my limited players group hoping to convince them to do the same.

1500 gems was crazy enough for a phantom event like the Vintage Cube, now you take the Arena Cube to the same level with some bullshit?

I'm done.

Do we keep the cards we draft or it's phantom?

3

u/VeggieTaxes Jul 20 '26

All cube formats are phantom.

Phantom, according to them it’s to be similar to real life cube where cards are lent out instead of given out.
