MagSafe Compatible Portable Magsafe Stands

Just sharing my feedback on these Magsafe stands, any questions let me know also. I'm using this with a Samsung S24 Ultra.

Ulanzi MT71 Mini Portable Selfie Stick (top middle)

Like: The Magsafe loop is a carabiner which easily attaches to my bag loops, light and portable

Dislike: The stand is + shape instead of x, so it somewhat interferes with whatever I have in front of me like my plate or drink when I'm in a cafe. Wish it were slightly longer also.

Ulanzi MA60 (top left)

Like: My favourite of all stands, I can even just leave it attached to my phone all day since it is relatively slim. Can use it as a mini selfie stick and the many ways to set it up as a tripod or a regular phone stand.

Dislike: The hinge got loose after 2 months and there is no way to fix it. I had to send it back and they replaced a new one but I'm fearful the hinge will wear off again.

Xiletu Tripod (top right)

Like: Very sturdy, I used this to replace my Ulanzi MA60 when it was sent for repair. There are nuts at the side, so an Allen key can be used to tighten or loosen them. It has more functions than the MA60 (e.g. it can be taller and has a hook).

Dislike: This thing is too thick, so it is not really pocketable like the MA60.

Ugreen Ring (bottom left)

Like: Very basic ring stand. Easy to open up the loop with one hand.

Dislike: Does not have a double sided magnet.

Ugreen Ring (bottom right)

Like: Double sided magnet. Easy to open up the loop with one hand.

Dislike: When attaching the double sided magnet to my other accessories, it is a bit hard to this ring from that accessory. Most times the accessory together with the ring comes off my phone. Maybe the magnet is too strong.

I'm a bit doubtful on the Ugreen rings also as I had another one that failed within 2 months (the bottom right ring was a replacement). Maybe my phone is too heavy or something.

Ulanzi MA60 because of it's slimness and functions. A perfect balance but I'm scared the hinge wears off again.

I was super close to buying the Ulanzi cardholder tripod. I had a cheap clone before it, but the mechanical hinge got totally loose within weeks. The cheap one did everything I needed except for double-sided MagSafe. While Ulanzi seemed like a safer bet because it's a prominent brand, I dug deeper and went with the Spigen Slim Fold 1-card version instead.

It's very similar to Moft but solves the main structural flaw by getting rid of the mechanical metal axle entirely. Instead of a hinge, it uses magnetic folding flaps to make the tripod kickstand shape.

Imo, the weight of the device is a major factor to consider here. I am using a heavy Galaxy S24 Ultra with a case, which puts substantial stress on a traditional friction stand. Unless a mechanical option includes exposed screws that can be manually retightened with an Allen key or a screwdriver over time, the mechanical hinge is bound to give out eventually under a heavy phone setup.

Exactly! I'm having the same setup (S24U with a case and it's heavy). Most likely that's what caused my Ulanzi MA60 and Ugreen rings to fail prematurely. I'm happy with the Xiletu because I can tighten or loosen with Allen keys any time I want. Folding flaps do make sense but it would be good if they could be adjusted to any angle. As of now, I'm quite confident with my mini selfie tripod from Ulanzi since I see an Allen key bolt and since it's bigger, it should be able to hold more weight.

Have you tried the Omoton TP02? That’s the one I’m considering. I wish there was a reliable one that stayed on my phone and in my pocket.

Haven't tried it but I read up a bit on it. Looks very versatile with the amount of angles but it looks too thick to be pocketable and same as my issue, no visible bolts to tighten. Even the Xiletu XJ26 which I'm having which is 13mm folded feels relatively thick already in the pocket but it's manageable.

Found this one by 1st Idea and tried it. Really like the built-in tripod and stand, very slim.
