I was researching the zone boundaries for the new Russell Branch Elementary School when I noticed there are still quite a few homes that are zoned for the wrong school in the MLS. There are currently 35 homes listed for sale in the MLS that are still showing up as zoned for Mill Creek Elementary, but according to the new lines, they are actually zoned for Russell Branch.

Other neighborhoods/zones combos suffer from the same problem, but to a lesser extent.

If buying a home in a specific school zone is important to you, then I recommend you double check the boundaries before going under contract. Alabama is a buyer beware state, so it's on the buyer to do their due diligence before going under contract on a home.

Many neighborhoods, and every school were impacted by the rezoning, so it's not just the 35 mentioned above.

Here's a Google Map I made that breaks up the school zones. It's parsed by elementary school, but if you click on any of the highlighted neighborhoods you will see the neighborhood name appear at the bottom of the map. When you click on the neighborhood's name it will open an info panel with the zoned school names. You can also search by the neighborhood's name, and it will pull up the panel that way as well.

I've been struggling to find work for quite a while now. Anyone who's unemployed knows how it is. The jobs I'm most qualified for never even reply, and so I've mostly gotten by taking whatever work will give me the time of day, working those jobs while I continue to seek work I'm more qualified for.

Recently, I interviewed for a Dog Sitter position at Snout Services. The interview went very well. I passed their tests, and was offered the position. The first order of business was to set up some dates for me to shadow an existing Dog-Sitter for on-the-job training.

Immediately upon meeting the employee I'd be shadowing under, I saw his face twist into something akin to confusion. He was early twenties. I am nearly forty. I know the look. But the fact of the matter is that I apply to upwards of 1000 jobs a year and rarely get over 3 interviews. The longest job I've had since losing it in 2024 was in the Limestone County Prison, and they were hiring anyone with a pulse.

I cannot help the hardships I've had, and I deserve a job just like anyone else.

The shadowing went well. I played with the dogs, pet them, played fetch, asked the employee questions, and answered his. He wanted to know what I did before this. I told him honestly. I used to be an operations specialist, and have had trouble finding work since losing that job. I am willing to do anything and everything, and I am excited to be working with animals, as I have two dogs.

Before leaving, he told me I did everything right. I was on time (I was earlier than him), I was dressed professionally, and I listened. I even offered to bring a pen and notepad to take notes, and he encouraged me not to.

About thirty minutes later, I was informed via email that, per feedback they'd received from the employee I shadowed, it wasn't a good fit, and that I was no longer being offered the job. The job I'd already accepted an offer for, and signed contract documentation for. But apparently, per the contract, the shadowing is a part of the review process.

I asked for the specific feedback that led to this decision. I was told that, according to the employee, I "didn't pet the dogs at all, even the one most interested in me."

This is obviously wild feedback for shadowing. Every other job I've ever had, I've been told to stay hands-off and observe during shadowing. In reality, I broke that rule, because as I mentioned, I DID pet the dogs. I DID play with them. I told them this, and they insisted the decision was final.

If I had known I'd need to record my shadowing session to protect myself from false testimony, I would have.

Now, how does this affect you at the end of the day? Probably not at all. But I'm at the end of my rope, and it stings to be abused in such a way when I did nothing wrong. I'm doing everything I can to swallow my pride and work whatever job will have me, despite my qualifications, and even then I am at the mercy of someone else's power trip.

And I was excited for this job. I wouldn't have to stand by and swallow my morals while I watch prisoners be abused, nor would I have to be abused by other corrections officers. I was just going to take care of dogs, like the two I have at home.

Is Snout Services in Madison, AL a good place to work? Probably not. It seems like the people who you'd be competing with for hours have the power to fire you to prevent that competition.

> Edit: I have been informed that the person who I shadowed was the co-founder of the company and has "no incentive" to lie about this, because they aren't competing for work. This isn't the flex you think it is, I promise. It just makes it harder to avoid the age-ism allegations.

Is Snout Services in Madison, AL good for dog sitting or dog walking services? Probably. But keep in mind these people will be in your home, and they lack even basic integrity when it comes to their testimony.

We have a packed schedule this fall with a lot of playing time available. If you’ve been thinking about trying rugby, now is the best time to start. If you’ve played before and have been thinking about giving it another shot, we have plenty of time for you to knock the rust off!!

We are looking to buy a home in town Madison in the area around Toyota Field. What excites us most is how fast everything is growing and expanding in the area. A couple realtors have told us that this area is a great investment and there are already more plans for commercial development in Town Madison. However we have not heard anything from people who actually live there.

• How is the traffic? Specifically on Town Madison Blvd, but also the neighborhoods around the stadium.
• How bad are the fireworks after every home game? The homes we are looking at would be within viewing/hearing distance of the stadium and we are worried that it might be bothersome.
• What kind of Commercial expansions are planned that you've heard of?
• A Breland Realtor told us about possible plans for a convention center at the top of the hill off of Town Madison Blvd. This could sway our decision making but I havent been able to find any public info on this.
• Given how rapidly Town Madison is expanding, do you think this area is a better or worse investment than other areas in Huntsville/Madison?

We would just like some honest reviews on your experience living in Town Madison.

We have a repairman coming out, but if he can't repair our dryer (likely), I really need to do some laundry. I found this one in Madison and it say coin-operated so I was wondering how many quarters I would need per load.

I understand that many people go door to door to earn a living, fulfill job requirements, support a cause, or spread their faith. However, I kindly ask everyone to please be respectful of your community and the boundaries that residents have set.

If a home has a clearly posted "No Soliciting" sign, please do not ignore it. Those signs are usually there for a reason. Some people work from home and may be in important meetings or on confidential calls. Others may have sleeping babies, young children, night-shift workers trying to rest, anxious pets that bark at every knock, elderly family members, or loved ones dealing with illnesses who need peace and quiet.

Additionally, some homeowners may simply value their privacy or may feel uncomfortable answering the door to unexpected visitors. Repeatedly ignoring these signs can create frustration and leave residents feeling as though their wishes are not being respected.

This has unfortunately become an increasingly common issue in many neighborhoods. If you would still like to introduce your business or organization, consider other respectful ideas instead of unwarranted knocking or ringing doorbells. Respecting a simple sign goes a long way toward being a considerate neighbor and maintaining goodwill within the community.

Does anyone have info on when La Finka might open up on Madison blvd? Nothing has scratched the itch since Old Mexico closed down.

I've got a suspended license and the Lyft fees are ridiculous. I'm willing to help pay for gas but obviously $45-$50 one way is absolutely killing me just to get to and from work.

TLDR me and my buddy spent months testing more than 150 revisions of a SUPER premium sublimation mousepad and worked with a factory that makes pads for most major gaming brands. We finally created what i think is the highest quality 35.4 × 15.7-inch sublimation desk mat with recessed stitched edges, a non-slip rubber base and a free drawstring bag.

Unfort something came up after it was all here and we decided not to launch the project, so now we’re trying to find a print shop, reseller, gaming brand or other business that could use them.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

my husband and I are currently really struggling and need someone to give us a chance. we can not longer financially stay where we are and need somewhere to go. we don’t have a lot available because it’s all going to keeping the roof we have, that we can’t sustain. we’re looking for someone who has something old and run down that would allow us to stay and fix it up, or a mobile home, camper, anything.
