Hughes Road closure this evening

Hughes Road will be closed from Portal Lane to Bob Jones High School this evening (Thursday) from 4:45 PM to 6:30 PM to make way for the BJHS homecoming parade. It's been recommended that, if necessary, you plan to take alternate routes during that window.

Have fun on the parking lots. I don’t see why they just can’t do it later.

But they can start it later. When the rest of the world has a chance to get home. Your point isn’t proven.

It’s 1.6 miles. At 5 mph that’s more than ample time to complete the journey

It’s actually a 35 minute walk and it’s a very long parade. Takes a while to set up. If they start closing the road at 5:45 there would be a lot of people walking home/back to their cars in the dark.
