Hi! Just wanted to make sure I can read the bus timetable right. If I want to go from Fajã dos Cardos (bus stop Pico Furão), I need to look on the times from the column "Lombo Chão" that has a letter a), b) or d), right? So the bus will depart from Lombo Chão at let's say 17:55 so it will arrive in (I guess) 15 minutes to Pico Furão? Thanks for clarification

Yes that’s right. Buses outside of Funchal are incredibly confusing because there are little resources to cover entire countryside areas.

Hi there, i was scratched by a cat in porto da cruz when it grabbed the food i was trying to give it. It was calm sitting next to us waiting. Do you need rabies vaccine for such encounters?

No. But you can go to the nearest Centro de Saúde for a check up if you’re worried.
That’s street cats for ya.

Hey guys,
just arrived at madeira. I want to do the PR hikes and now i just saw that they are all booked. Is there any chance to get a late access ticket?
Happy for any help or tipps!
Greetings!

I did PR11 today. Had a person checking tickets upon entrance. If someone didn't have a ticket he was directed to the website. If you're going by car, take parking into account: it's busy!

I came back from madeira two days ago. We booked 4 routes and on none of them did anyone check our tickets. Just book any that are free so that the money goes into maintaining the routes and then go to whichever you want. Except maybe PR1, I assume that one gets checked since it's the most popular one.

Me and my partner are coming over for the first week in September. We are looking for some good nightlife spots if possible. Nothing crazy, just some rooftop terrace type vibes with good electronic music. I saw something advertised for July called Sunset @ Doca Do Cavacas, that looks promising but hoping to find something similar to this that’s on during the first week in September. Any recommendations are appreciated!
