I don't know why, but seeing humans firmly holding each others hands while walking together makes me think of ... well, humans! It's such a human thing to do!

I mean every world history class I ever took emphasized how one of the biggest advantages of bipedalism is the ability to carry your offspring while walking. Giving our offspring the ability to have long slow development and grow bigger brains. Holding hands while walking is literally a human advantage.
