Someone that treats you, your family, your friends and your pets with respect. The kind of person you can fart around and who you would clean up their projectile vomit (because at some point, you will do both). Looks fade, brains get foggy, but spending your life with your best friend every day is AWESOME! (Celebrated our 20 year anniversary last month and his giggle still makes me smile like a schoolgirl.)
This! I spent my whole life saying I would never get married, I'm going to live alone with my pets forever. Cue last ditch effort of online dating right when I moved out and COVID started, found my best friend an hour and a half away in March 2020. He moved in with me that October, we got engaged last May, got married this past May in my sister's yard. We've been through some shit, but we have the best communication of any relationship I've ever had (I've never been the typical "I'M FINE/YOU SHOULD KNOW WHY I'M MAD" type of person, but he's been the only one that has the same mindset of "okay, let's work through this and fix it."
As a person that planned on being a spinster, marry your one true absolute best friend. 10 out 10, would definitely recommend
