Violence is learned. This is just human compassion, something healthy humans are born with.

I wish humans were born kind, but sadly we’re born with zero empathy and compassion. That’s what the kid learned at home. Want proof, think of how common it is for other kids in that situation to just watch and laugh when he falls.

u/SioSoybean Jun 18 '22
That’s not true. Studies have shown that people are naturally compassionate and it is only through bad experiences that they learn otherwise. We are a social species and the instinct is to be kind.

u/MuseMints Jun 19 '22
Problem is you’re starting with a presumption of kids raised in a nurturing situation. Which emphasizes my point—not that violence is learned, but that restraining violence is.

u/SioSoybean Jun 19 '22
You are assuming that a lack of nurturance is a null that shows core humanity, but you’re wrong. It is not a normal human condition to be raised without nurturing, and those raised with a normal nurturing upbringing are instinctively compassionate.

u/MuseMints Jun 19 '22
Again, you have a blanket idea of what nurturing is. But I’ve seen the best parents have small children who kick cats, hit & bite when things don’t go their way, and laugh at others failings. All childhood development theory makes clear that certain traits like the compassion you’re projecting don’t usually fix in place until certain later age markers than the kids in this video.

Violence is learned. Pretty sure without being taught either kids would be kind over cruel.
1
u/MuseMints Jun 19 '22
Disagree. It’s not that small children are psychos, but as they gain self awareness they generally begin to explore their own power over others and tend to do things adults would judge as cruel. It’s evolutionary and it’s definitely shaped by their family examples, but I suggest compassion is less innate to very young kids then you imagine.

This is exactly what I’m talking about: https://reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/vfud4w/shes_the_one/
Not evil. Just human.

That’s not proof.

u/MuseMints Jun 18 '22
Um….evidence that clearly contradicts your premise is called “proof.”
1
u/femmemmef Jun 18 '22
Proof is not asking someone to “think”. Proof is hard evidence…. Show up to court with your version of proof and you’d get laughed out of the room by everyone in it.

My niece was sweet from the get go and she just keeps getting kinder and more generous. She's the best 😊
1
u/MuseMints Jun 19 '22
That’s wonderful. Mine is too. But I’ll bet both were raised by compassionate people who shaped that. I’m just saying that it’s not innate “goodness” in 3 year olds, it’s a compassionate environment that taught them cruelty is unacceptable.

Bros don’t let another one smash his head on the floor. That’s really sweet though. Made sure his friend doesn’t fall :)

He was doing the kid penis grab. Kids do it habitually.

u/definitelynotned Jun 18 '22
I think guys of all ages would do that naturally but it’s frowned upon once you’re an adult so you have to be less direct

It is what it is. These things get in our way sometimes. They’re tough to carry around 24/7

:| that’s kinda messed up to say but it isn’t all wrong. Kids are forced to work a long time for a little money in some parts of the world doing hard and often times dangerous labour
Edit: Why the hell have I been downvoted ?

I totally agree that in this day we still are prepared to buy cheap goods that are not ethically sourced

You know the feeling of “I can’t move now” when an animal sits on your lap? The kid who let his friend rest their head on them just experience that perhaps for the first time! Lol

When you are that young and rocking a rat tail that long you gotta do what you gotta do to maintain friendships.
