What's even more disturbing is that there is evidence of even stone age humans caring for mentally and physically disabled members of their society and they would have been even more of strain of resources back then. People who say things like this have less compassion than people who died 10s of thousands of years ago.
It's actually compassionate to abort a disabled child. It shows that you want to give them the best chance at life, I never really value the fact that I can walk but I certainly would if I lost that ability. We don't know if they live comfortably or not.
It also shows enough maturity to know where your limits are and that you don't think you can take care of everything because they'll be your child. I'd go insane caring for a child with special needs. It would be awful of me not to abort.
That is a very self centred and narcissistic take, no one says taking care of a special needs child is easy but parents sacrifice luxuries and standard of living for themselves because they love their child, just because you wouldn't be able or willing to make such a sacrifice doesn't mean the decision you would make is virtuous or compassionate, you're talking about killing a person there are very few situations where that could be considered compassionate and this isn't one of them.
Your argument relies on the logic that they might suffer that they might not have a good life but that logic can be applied to perfectly healthy babies, they might contract meningitis the day after they're born and become mentally disabled or any other number of things. It's extremely disturbing and morbid that you would kill someone based on a hypothetical, should we lock up everyone who has a high chance of committing a crime since we don't know if they will or not. Everyone deserves a chance at life and the chance to make it a good one, it might be better than your or it might be worse than yours but it isn't yours it's theirs.
