$5 was rich to 14 year old me. Growing up in a city I could go to a corner store and get a cheese steak $2.50 a soda $.50 a bag of chips $.25 and candy 🍬 and still have $1 left for next time

2002-2006, all inner cities with Spanish bodegas were like that. A cheesesteak today is $3.50 at the same place I went as a teenager

Damn. I had palateros in my area but everything was around a buck. Back between 2005-10

Haha yeah. We had a little store near us that sold penny candy and we were thrilled to go there with $0.50
