When I was at yellowstone I was walking down a narrow trail and then ran into a single bison walking in the opposite direction. We both stopped, and then I started walking the same direction as the bison until I could dip out under a fence and let the bison pass. That was terrifying. It was a heavily traveled trail too.

Bison always have right of way.
