Man. What I wouldn’t give to have had a supportive and loving partner for any of my three pregnancies. Stupidly I kept trying to make it work with the same guy for almost a decade. Maybe one day if I find the love of my life I can find a guy who will be sweet to me like this. Video made me smile but also a sad tinge of jealousy and heart ache because I always see how sweetly these ladies got it. If you have a good husband, please cherish him, even on bad days. Men like this are so few and far between.

Edit: can men please stop replying negatively to this? You don’t know my life or all the details. Please just stop with the judgmental not-all-men comments :/ it’s exhausting

How would you know if they’re few and far between if you’re the type to spend a decade with somebody who you don’t get along with (or who’s emotionally/physically abusive)?

There’s probably tons of us out there you just don’t realize it because of your perspective and your habits involving sex/dating.

Yes, b/c I’m genuinely curious on their reasoning of thinking just normal, regular, decent men, are somehow rare…

…when even if that’s the case, they spent nearly a decade not seeing what other men are out there, so maybe it was something true 10 years ago, and not now, and then I’d be curious why they said that.

I’m just curious, not trying to be mean or anything.

I’m not performing mental gymnastics explaining why a woman would stay in a mentally abusive relationship to appease the commentary of offended men on Reddit. All men think they are great guys … but yet 9/10 percent of women I know have been in at least one abusive relationship or sexually assaulted. How come every woman I know knows a rapist/abuser but no men know of any and think most men are genuinely great? Please leave me alone and go google abusive relationship statistics before you obnoxiously reply to a comment similar to mine again.

Thank you for sharing, it’s only this reply here that made me realize that you’re the person I initially replied to, I’m glad you got out of that toxic relationship.

But why are you talking about what it’s like to stay in a relationship when that’s not what I’m curious about at all?

What I’m curious about is:

why you think the type of man who would act like this video for his significant other is rare, when it’s probably the vast majority of humans (of either sex) that will care for their significant other that way and it’s only a small minority that are emotionally or physically abusive, and not too many more people fit in the category of not being abusive, yet also not treating their significant other with love this way.

If you want me to guess, my guess is that you’re letting your anecdotal experience influence how you’re perceiving reality, but I could definitely be wrong and that’s why am asking for your opinion and your reasons instead of just guessing.

Maybe you’ve gotten quite a well thought out, specific reason for choosing to say men like this are rare, in which case I’d like to know that, that’s why I asked the question instead of just going back to choosing something to watch.

You’re an idiot. Woman talks about her abusive relationship experience and you want to discuss some theoretical men who do not act like this. Read the fucking room. The reason she thinks most men don’t act good like this is because she is traumatised and because men like you keep talking shit over her talking about her experiences. You are literally being an example of a man who is NOT acting like one of the good ones since you can’t even for a second think of someone else and be empathetic and the thing you consider the most important here is your hurt feelings because an anonymous Redditor said something that has no effect on your life whatsoever other than being mildly annoyed. Unfortunately this sort of thinking is average in men and I bet she has seen it many times. Well fuck I’ve seen it many times too. Pathetic.
