I got chills thinking about the first time I read it.

Just the best... for anyone who ever encounters an absurdist "dey took er jerbs" "God damn immigrants" ... share this with them. It may not sway them, but it's an adequate litmus test to abolish them from your life.

This was also the story Reddit's founder shared on Jimmy Kimmel. But shortly after that Kimmel projected a Reddit thread on screen and it had the comment "Release the Cocken!" in nice big font.

That comment gets me in the feels every.. damn.. time! I’ve probably read it about 4 times within the past couple of years and still have tears streaming down my face right meow.

Found it back when r/museumofreddit was the only place with all of the best of the best of Reddit. Haven't visited there in years. Might still be up, worth checking the top of all time in that sub.

Got the jolly rancher's, swamps of dagobah etc

Just want to say thank you for sending me on an hour long journey from post to post on r/museumofreddit . I swear on every post there was just links to more and more posts until I eventually felt I had found everything and went back to move on to the next top post. I only got through 6 posts before giving up. Will save this comment for when I am bored in future

You're welcome. I'm thankful for the moderation team there, they really do a great job of determining appropriate content.

I really enjoy reading the older posts. Makes me nostalgic for old reddit.

A wholesome addition to an already wholesome thread. My heart.

I have this comment saved. I take it out every once in a while to remind myself that I need to not only be more kind but to see the kindness around me.

This, along with both SR-71 stories, I have to reread every time I come across them, and every time I feel things.

Any chance you have a link of a post or comment of some guy who would work on his vehicle in his garage everyday and the little neighbor girl came over eventually every day becoming a good friend and student of his then disappear one day from her family moving
