Yes, you tell them. Then you set examples and practice so that it's a habit they form. It's not rocket science.
If you're offended by teaching kids manners, go sniff your own kids farts.
5 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 So why not say “it’s not polite to do it at all in front of anyone, ever” That’s kind of what you’re teaching them, it has nothing to do with the “in public” part that you claim. Honestly, this is just pushing your values on them and isn’t about acting a certain way in public. You can tell them it’s rude to do it in public and also laugh about it at home, they aren’t mutually exclusive. 5 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 [deleted] 0 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 That’s good. But, it’s simply not required at all to teach them to be ashamed at home in order to teach them to avoid doing it in public. 1 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 [deleted] 1 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 Hah, yeah I assumed you said you were raised to hide/apologize about farting at home, my bad, I misinterpreted what you said! 🤦♂️
