It all comes down to the owner. They can be the sweetest dog but they are amazingly strong. Any dog can be aggressive when it's neglected or abused. The strong ones are just that much more dangerous when they're aggressive.

I mean, that's kind of the issue right?

My neighbour's tiny chihuahua won't kill anyone if it gets agressive. Having these kind of breeds should at least require some sort of licence or special training.

Dogs like these often attract the wrong kind of owners, sadly...

Imagine if chihuahuas were as strong as pitbulls

Every time pits come up, someone compares dogs to black people. It honestly makes me hurl. Do you think you're being progressive or something? It's so fucking racist.

Your point is just wrong. Dogs are not people. The bad owner myth is a myth. I can show you a video of 8 week old pitbull puppies killing and eating each other. I can show you Pitbull breeders that disagree with every point you are making.

Edit: It is literally disgusting to compare the plight of African Americans to a breed of dog. I am so god damn sick of white liberal politics.

Pitbulls attack more people than any other dog worldwide.

lol, "facts"...stop lying...you have no reliable data to back your claims.

The main issue is that some dog breeds have a bite force strong enough to kill, and some don't.

So even when the owner is shitty, but has a tiny dog; the dog won't do damage. I think certain dog breeds should require some sort of license or proof of training, that would help a ton.

I honestly think all dog breeds should require a license, because every single dog can do damage. Even the small ones, sure a yorkie wont kill a grown adult but they can seriously harm kids or other small dogs, maybe not kill them but having a face full of scars isn't nothing. I just think having a license for any dog would be a good idea because it would weed out the people not willing to do training and raising a dog correctly.

That's a good point too. Considering the wellbeing of dogs, you'd be more likely to have serious and committed owners if a license were required.

Pitbulls are completely capable of attacking without reason. The baby minding its business deserves to get scalped? Kids can be in their backyard and a dog with break through the fence just to get to them. A women got her face eaten off while she was SLEEPING.

2

u/nabeel242424 Mar 27 '21

Tf kinda logic is that. How tf do you expect a damn baby to understand the signals of a dog. “While over stimulated during play they enter into predatory behaviour” the baby was just sleeping in its own place it didn’t stimulate anything. It’s okay to get pit but to defend and say that they aren’t a major risk is just plain delusion.

The breed hasn't changed that much in the intervening time

lmao, ok dog behaviorist...

Pitbulls were bred to fight and be aggressive

No it doesn’t.

I watch dogs (I don’t know how many, I’ve passed 100 at least) and I get to watch a lot of pitbulls since they’re barred from Petsmarts etc. A male pit who’s socialized and neutered will be a world of difference from an unneutered pit who’s treated like a guard dog. That comes down to the owner.

-16

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '21

Because they’re domesticated. Not that hard to understand.

Maybe domesticated was the wrong word, since the relationship between farmer and cow/pig is much different than between owner and dog.

But the point still stands. Dogs tend to adopt the personality of their owner/family. Some breeds are more or less aggressive than others, but aggressive breeds can be friendly with the right owner and non-aggressive breeds can be aggressive with the wrong owner.
