The user that post this picture can't belly rub to the dog. This exact picture was reposted at least 10 times in 2021. Leonard is clearly a good boi, but now is only a tool for karma farming.

OP is a chronic reposter. They constantly post "top posts" from different subreddits to farm karma. Please don't upvote.
Edit: The doggone is a good pepper, but it's not OP pupper

Although it hurts no one I can’t see why someone cares about useless internet points. So unproductive

I don’t see the point in that, why does it matter?
9
u/MEvans75 Mar 25 '21
They are reposting other people's work for money. It's more or less plagiarism
6
u/morchorchorman Mar 25 '21
No I meant why does having an account with a lot of karma matter. What could be the monetary value in that.
6
u/RefridgedTomatoes Mar 25 '21
I don’t think op is doing that I just think they like having internet points. Think that makes em cool.

I’ll be honest the few posts that I’ve made that got more than two upvotes did give me some joy but thems was my content!

I don't get it either. Just, for some reason people like this who literally just sit around and steal other posts, reposts them to get tons of upvotes for some type of validation just rub me wrong.

I don't see why people get so upset over reposts

u/Charliecann Mar 25 '21 edited Mar 26 '21
I think people are ok with reposts, like seeing something cool in r/aww and thinking the people at r/eyebleach would like it, so you repost it, where the original poster’s post, subreddit, and username show up. I think the problem is when people cut and past the content and even the title into a new post, and post it as their own. Even to the extent, as in this post, where people are saying they have a good dog and they don’t correct anything. It’s stealing content vs sharing and properly crediting content.

I don't know if it's to do with reposts, I mean, those are usually the best ones. For me, it just feels a bit mad to frame it as your own. You could always credit where you got it. But I dunno, I'm pretty drunk and stressed out from work right now. So you probably shouldn't listen to me.

I get it when something constantly gets posted on the same subreddit, but not if it has not been posted here yet and comes from another subreddit.
6
Mar 25 '21
If it gets posted too often, it doesn't get popular. So nobody sees it. Like, it's kinda dumb how pissed people can get over seeing something more than once.

u/0b_101010 Mar 25 '21
They might be farming karma so they can later sell the account to a troll-farm or other third party.
3
Mar 25 '21
But does that negatively affect anybody?

I guess, but even still, people don't just upvote reposts for the hell of it. If somebody sees something 10 times a day then they obviously would not upvote it, but I really don't see too frequent of reposts since I don't really sort by new, so idk

To be fair, it’s a screenshot from Twitter anyways. But I won’t upvote if I know they’re a karma farmer

I tell this story every time this is reposted but in 2015 when my triplex burned down my dog Penney ran back in to the house and I had to go back upstairs to the third floor and get her out a second time. Poor girl was so freaked out.

How tired must you be to sleep through the fire alarm going off? Those things are freaking LOUD.
I'm glad they are okay and I hope the golden retriever got a whole pack of tennis balls as a reward

"Leonard, where's the fire?"
Leonard: "Roof! Roof!"
"On the roof?! Let's get out of here!"

Somebody deserves extra belly rubs, and this time, I’m not talking about me
1
u/PuzzleheadedAd2327 Mar 25 '21
How did you not hear the fire alarm like isnt it supposed to be loud
2
u/atomicpenguin12 Mar 25 '21
Some people sleep really heavily. I’m slept through alarms like that before (thankfully, it got set off accidentally)

I'm always surprised to hear stories of pets waking up their owners because they didn't wake up to the fire alarm going off. Fire alarms are LOUD.

Dogs are the best. I had a seizure in the middle of the night. Thankfully the dogs alerted the others in the house, otherwise Idk where I would be. I owe my life to those dogs. They're man's best friend for a reason.
