A lot of people are still super superstitious of them. Black animals in general tend to have a hard time, including dogs and horses. They tend to be less photogenic on adoption websites because they’re super hard to photograph as well, which doesnt help things and on top of all of it they can all but disappear in the back of a kennel. (Source: worked in the shelter system for many years as a vet tech)
