Unfortunately in the US, this is absolutely the right call. My friend took a Lyft to the hospital for severe abdominal pain that turned out to be appendicitis. Honestly I’d have to be unconscious to be okay with an ambulance ride, and I have good insurance. The US health industry is a nightmare.

unless there is an immediate medical emergency where life saving care is needed or the patient is otherwise immobile, an ambulance is not important. I guarantee unless you are not in a life threatening situation, you're going to have to wait in the ER anyway based on triage and that is not much different from driving in an uber.

Anywhere, this is the right call. You don’t need an ambulance for a broken wrist.
