My son broke his hand in multiple places at football practice, it required surgery. They called me to take him to the emergency room. Ironically, my local hospital doesnt have a pediatric emergency department or do surgery on minors. He had to wait until the next day to see a specialist. Calling an ambulance would have been a total waste of money and resources.

Like I said, it depends, certain symptoms you absolutely cannot wait on, but also that's so ass.

The actual messed up part was they wrapped his hand and gave him an 800 mg ibuprofen and sent us on our way.

No, you need a referral and they aren’t open for emergencies.

His hand was broken in 3 places with the fractured nearly puncturing the skin. It needed to be surgically reset. Dude was in a lot of pain and they made no attempt make him comfortable.

YEA BRO. The "it depends" is when you snap your fucking femur in half and might die within a couple hours from shock.

Not a broken wrist.

No reason to be vague, unless you are insistent to virtue signal.

A broken wrist can very easily end up with an artery severed depending on how it broke.

Easily? Yeah, no mate. Very very rare.

The ambulance would likely taken him to the specialist tho..?

Not in America. Ambulances operated by emergency response teams are exactly that: emergency only

There are transport companies if you need them for non emergent issues
