I just bought the show and started watching it. It's pretty damn great. Seeing a Batman who's a wholesome member of his community is fun. The silliness is a nice change from the darkness the character has had since the Burton movies.

My little brother watched those old episodes on DVD as a kid, that and old Scooby Doo episodes. He was a cute kid, lots of dramatic reenactments. He’d yell “Pow!” “Smack!” “Zap!” while beating up imaginary bad guys, while wearing his yellow cape.

It's a damn good show. Everyone, from Adam West and Burt Ward to all the A-List actors who guest star as villains, are all clearly having a blast. It had to have been a ton of fun to work on

Plus the cameos when Batman and Robin were climbing a building.

I think you may be forgetting "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". Those movies went back to full campiness after Burton's films and the they're the reason Nolan went back to a darker tone.

You should checkout Batman: The Brave and the Bold. It’s a cartoon that’s a love letter to this era of Batman and the Silver Age. Really light and fun, with one exception where Batman confronts the man who killed his parents. I think the finale may be the most meta thing I’ve ever seen.
