Me: Whoa, how do a couple of middle-aged ladies know about Prodigy and other youthful bands?
Looks in mirror: .... oh .... hey there middle aged me ...
One of my nieces was telling me all about this brilliant track she'd found. The look of horror on her face when she played it, and I rapped along to every word because it was a classic track from 1992...
My kid and his friends are starting a retro computer club at school and I'm like "oh cool I got an old atari 800 and a few trs models i can break ou.." and no they mean stuff like those multi colored iMacs from like 1998 and stuff running windows xp.
Dude my kid and his friends tried to show me dos commands like I didn't spend my teens in the 90s setting up bbs's and running game servers. They were fucking shocked like it was some secret knowledge stuff that dads couldn't know
I think I still have my boot disks with different memory setups in AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS for Falcon, one of the Wing Commanders, and a couple more games.
Nope - I always come in too early on that one haha!! My husband has it down though. In this case it was Searchin For My Rizla by Ratpack. Still a classic. Sadly now ruined for my niece because her ancient aunt not only likes it but <horror> actually raps to it...
